Mumbai. E-commerce company Amazon has taken action against sellers selling normal sweets on its platform as Ram temple prasad. The company has removed the option of selling Ram Mandir Prasad from the platform. Actually, the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) had sent a notice to the company in this matter.
Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) had complained to CCPA in this matter. After this, CCPA sent a notice asking Amazon to respond within seven days. CCPA also said that if Amazon is unable to respond in time, then action will be taken against it under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. Regarding this action, Amazon told the media that they had received information from CCPA that some sellers are selling products with false claims on the Amazon platform. We started investigating them. As per our policy, we are taking appropriate action against these sellers.
Ayodhya Ram temple, ghee laddu and peda are being sold
CCPA said that many food items were being sold on Amazon with the claim of Shri Ram Mandir Ayodhya Prasad. Due to this, wrong information about the product was being given to the consumers. These things include products named Shri Ram Mandir Ayodhya Prasad-Raghupati Ghee Laddu, Ayodhya Ram Mandir Ayodhya Prasad, Khoya Khobi Laddu, Ram Mandir Ayodhya Prasad-Desi Cow Milk Peda.
