Raipur. A case of holding a healing meeting has come to light in Dokda village of Jashpur. The matter of religious conversion has come to light in the healing meeting. On receiving this complaint, the Dokda police station team immediately reached the spot and arrested a person named Rafael Khalkhon (50). The pastor of the Odisha Christian Missionary absconded before the police arrived.
Actually, in Karamtoli colony adjacent to Dokda village, some people coming from Odisha were praying for healing. About 500 people were present on the spot. At the same time, the program of this healing meeting was not allowed. As soon as the people of the colony got wind of this, they reached Dokra post and informed the police about the matter.
The absconding pastor is a resident of Odisha
On the information of the villagers, Dokra Chowki police reached there immediately but before the arrival of the police, the pastor who was conducting the healing meeting fled from the spot. Dokda outpost police brought the people organizing the healing prayer to Dokda outpost and recorded their statements. The absconding pastor is a resident of Talsara Sundargarh, Odisha. It is being told that he had come with his 5 companions.
Villagers created ruckus at the healing meeting
Dinesh Prasad, head of the Hindu organization, said that a healing meeting was organized in the playground of Karamtoli village to cure the patients of complex diseases like polio. Seeing the fearless religious conversion taking place under the guise of a healing meeting, the villagers created a ruckus and complained to the police. In this case, the police have registered a case of religious conversion and arrested the accused.
Case registered against two people
ASP Umesh Kumar Kashyap said that information was received about a religious program in Karam Toli village in Outpost Dokda. This was verified by the police. The program was stopped by the Tehsildar after reaching the spot. A case has been registered against two people under sections 153A and 295A on the complaint of villagers for hurting religious sentiments.
