Raipur. Anti-conversion campaign has got great success in Bastar division of Chhattisgarh. In Kasturpal of Lohandiguda block, 81 people from 16 families who were earlier Christians have returned to Sanatan Dharma. All Kartami belong to Madiya tribe.
People of Christian community had got the conversion done
In the presence of the village priest and Sarpanch, all of them performed the rituals and returned to Sanatan Dharma, taking water, land, sky, nature and Gods and Goddesses as witnesses. Nani, who had returned to his original religion, told that three years ago some members of his family had fallen ill, then the people of the Christian community had got the entire family converted by saying that they could be cured through prayers.
Now people are returning to their original religion
Mahesh Kashyap, divisional coordinator of Bastar Sanskriti Suraksha Manch, which is running a campaign against religious conversion, said that Jagran Yatra was taken out from Narayanpur to Maa Danteshwari temple in Dantewada, the effect of which is visible. District President of Chhattisgarh Sarva Adivasi Samaj Dashrath Kashyap said that in more than one thousand gram panchayats of the state, the gram sabha has passed a decision to ban religious conversion. The people who converted in the villages are now returning to their original religion.
