Congress leader and spokesperson Shri Gourav Vallabh, Former Bihar Congress President Shri Anil Sharma and RJD leader Shri Upendra Prasad have joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in the presence of BJP National General Secretary Shri Vinod Tawde, BJP National Media Co-Head Dr. Sanjay Mayukh, at the party’s headquarters in New Delhi on Thursday.
Shri Vinod Tawde welcomed Shri Gourav Vallabh, Shri Anil Sharma, and Shri Upendra Prasad into the Bharatiya Janata Party. Shri Tawde introduced Shri Gourav Vallabh, highlighting his long tenure as Congress’ national spokesperson and contributions to education. Shri Tawde pointed out Congress’ dwindling presence in Bihar and dissatisfaction among members due to decisions imposed without consulting state leadership, leading to Shri Anil Sharma joining the BJP. He highlighted Shri Upendra Prasad’s emergence in Bihar and emphasized PM Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ gaining more momentum and support.
Shri Tawde highlighted Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s emphasis on women’s empowerment and criticized the Congress’ contrasting treatment towards women. Additionally, Shri Tawde, condemned the Chhattisgarh Congress LoP Mahant Charan Das for suggesting violence against the Hon’ble Prime Minister, urging opposition leaders to understand the public’s support for Shri Narendra Modi. Shri Tawde said that on the issue of Katchatheevu island, Indi Alliance ally MDMK has said that – “Congress has betrayed the people of Tamil Nadu”, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi should clarify his stand on this issue.
After joining the BJP, Shri Gourav Vallabh expressed gratitude to the dignitaries present on the stage and emphasized his long-held belief in the construction of the Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. He expressed disappointment that the INC did not accept the invitation, which deeply affected him. Shri Vallabh noted the trend of criticizing wealth creators and policies like privatization, globalization, and liberalization despite the international recognition of the reforms initiated by former PM Manmohan Singh and Shri PV Narasimha Rao. In light of these concerns, he questioned why the Congress did not raise questions to its allies when they spoke against Sanatan Dharma. The process of crushing rather than respecting new thoughts, new ideas, and new people will not propel India forward. Shri Vallabh conveyed that he has decided to join the BJP by aligning with the ‘Viksit Bharat vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Shri Gourav Vallabh stated that he will undoubtedly support the BJP by utilizing his competence, knowledge, and understanding to contribute towards ‘Viksit Bharat’.
Former Bihar INC president Shri Anil Sharma asserted that the Congress Party has become entrapped by leaders with a communal mindset, which was the reason for his departure from the INC. Shri Shama accused INC President Mallikarjun Kharge and Sonia Gandhi of talking about secularism but having communal perspectives.
RJD leader Shri Upendra Prasad accused RJD President Lalu Prasad Yadav of promoting nepotism and corruption in Bihar by allegedly accepting money for tickets. Shri Prasad stated that the development, civilization, and preservation of India’s culture are only possible under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
