Bharatiya Janata Party National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda released the Bharatiya Janata Party Sankalp Patra (Manifesto) for the upcoming Sikkim Assembly Election. During the event, Sikkim BJP President Shri Dilli Ram Thapa, Shri Narendra Kumar Subba, State In-Charge Shri Dilip Kumar Jaiswal, Lok Sabha Candidate Shri Dinesh Chandra Nepal and other leaders were present.

Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda emphasized the profound honor bestowed upon the sacred land, which has been safeguarded by the revered guardian deity Kanchanjanga for centuries. Shri Nadda praised the exceptional fusion of languages, cultures, customs, and traditions in Sikkim, underscoring the collaborative drive towards fostering progress in the region. Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda further highlighted that PM Shri Narendra Modi has consistently articulated a distinct vision for the North East, one focused on development and propelling the nation forward. PM Shri Narendra Modi has reiterated that Sikkim and all the North Eastern states serve as gateways to East Asia and SouthEast Asia. Therefore, approximately 55 thousand crore worth of projects have either been inaugurated or had their foundation stones laid by PM Shri Narendra Modi on the soil of Sikkim. Shri Nadda stated, “If we talk about PM Shri Narendra Modi’s vision and style of functioning, it is centered on achieving last-mile delivery and enhancing last-mile connectivity.”

BJP National President Shri Nadda highlighted the significant transformation Sikkim has undergone over the past decade. Shri Nadda emphasized that last-mile delivery has been ensured, and efforts have been made to enhance last- mile connectivity. Furthermore, Sikkim celebrated the inauguration of its first airport, Meghalaya marked the opening of its railway station after 67 years, and Nagaland acquired an additional railway station after a century. Shri Nadda criticized the previous government for its isolationist and ignorant approach, as well as its focus on advancing its own vote bank. Shri Nadda noted that this approach was characteristic of the functioning style of the Congress party and other political entities.

Shri Nadda pointed out that when Hon’ble PM Modi became the Prime Minister, he emphasized the imperative to “Look East, Act East, Act Fast, Act First.” It was underscored that for India to progress, the eastern region must not remain weak, as it could impede the nation’s advancement. Therefore, special support and financial assistance were advocated for the eastern part of the country. Shri Nadda stated that today, it can be affirmed that the mainstreaming of the Northeast has taken place. This advancement has been facilitated by decisiveness, doorstep delivery, and development. Shri Nadda highlighted that PM Shri Narendra Modi has termed the North East as “Ashtalakshmi.” Previously, the region was known for blockades, insurgency, and targeted killings, but today, it is recognized for peace, prosperity, power, tourism, 5G connectivity, natural farming, culture, sports, and the enhancement of potential. This indicates a significant shift from a time when the North East was disregarded and plagued by various forms of insurgency to now, where it is advancing with peace and prosperity. Additionally, Sikkim is also progressing in this regard.

BJP National President highlighted that in the North East, 11 peace accords have been established, resulting in the surrender of 9500 insurgents. This has led to a 71% reduction in insurgency incidents, a 60% decrease in security force attacks, and an 82% reduction in attacks on civilians. Shri Nadda emphasized that over the past decade, PM Shri Narendra Modi has allocated 5 lakh crore rupees for the development of the North East. This reflects his belief in the HIRA project, which prioritizes Highways, Internet, Railways, and Airports (HIRA), thereby ensuring holistic development, including air connectivity, highway connectivity, internet connectivity, and railway connectivity. Shri Nadda highlighted that over the past nine years, 10 thousand kilometers of roads have been constructed, with 6 thousand kilometers built in the past eight years alone. Additionally, three lakh crore rupees have been invested in the National Highway project over the last decade. Furthermore, optical fibers have been extended to connect ten thousand villages in the North East, while the rail budget has seen a five-fold increase.

  •  BJP commits to earmark a corpus worth Rs. 500 crore for the Agri-Infra Mission.
  • BJP will revamp the agricultural infrastructure so as to benefit farmers and ensure overall prosperity in the State of Sikkim.
  •  BJP will establish the Regional Institute for Medical Sciences in Sikkim.
  •  BJP will work to empower women in the State by making 15,000 Lakhpati Didis.
  •  BJP will create 25,000 job opportunities in Sikkim for women and youth in the next 5 years.
  • BJP will establish women-led and women-run ‘Amma Community Canteens’, which will provide subsidized food to people.
  • BJP will launch ‘Sikkim Gati Shakti Master Plan’ to ensure multi-modal infrastructure development and coordinated implementation of critical projects of roadways, railways, and airways.

Shri Nadda emphasized that it’s time for Sikkim to join the mainstream with the BJP and the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Enough of the regional parties, it’s time to bid farewell to corruption. The BJP will bring clean, people-oriented, progressive, peaceful, and infrastructurally developed mainstreaming to Sikkim. Let the lotus bloom! Shri Nadda emphasized that every old issue will be addressed seriously. BJP promises that if it gains power in Sikkim, there will be modern villages with full facilities, empowered women, youth aspirations fulfilled, mainstreamed farmers, flourishing tourism, and a vision for organic farming. Sikkim will become an export hub for the world under PM Shri Narendra Modi’s leadership, bringing significant change.
