The National School of Drama (NSD) in collaboration with Delhi Tourism and Development Corporation Ltd organizing “Rang Amlan” 10 Days Demonstration oriented Children Theatre Workshop from 22 June – 2 July, 2024 at Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti.

Addressing a press conference virtually Director of National School of Drama Shri Chittaranjan Tripathy said, the workshop aims at growth of body and mind of the children through the method of theatre. It will not only help them to grow physically and emotionally but also integrate them with neighborhood and society in a more meaningful manner.  Around 150 children have been selected out of 250 applications on the basis of interaction.

Each group will prepare a demonstration which will be showcased on 2nd July, 2024 at Abhimanch Auditorium, NSD premises, Mandi House. The timing of the workshop has been kept from 3 pm to 6 pm. Children’s Theatre Festival will be organized from 26th June to 1st July, 2024for all the participants as well as audiences at Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti Auditorium near Rajghat, New Delhi from 6:30 pm onwards after the workshop, wherein, 6 plays will be showcased. It is compulsory for all the participants to watch all plays, to be showcased in the festival with their parents.

The National School of Drama, Children Theatre Wing in collaboration with CINE & TV ARTISTES’ ASSOCIATION (CINTAA), also organized 30 Days Children Theatre Workshop at MUMBAI for the Children age group between 8 to 16 years from 25th May to 23rd June, 2024. And the performance of workshop prepared by the participants under the Direction of Mr. N.K. Pant, Music by: Chittaranjan Tripathy, Lights: Narayan Chauhan and Coordinated by Ms. Muskan Goswami. During the culmination ceremony the play “Baap Bhi Kabhi Bachcha Tha” a Play devised based on the story of Sh. Satyajit Roy which will be showcased on 21-6-2024 at Veda Kunba Auditorium, CINTAA Tower, Four Bungalow, Andheri West, Mumbai

Summer Theatre festival 2024:

The National School of Drama, Repertory Company is set to bring bouquet of plays, the enjoyable summer gala evenings in Leh, Ladakh for the first time during the month of June 2024.

NSD Repertory Company organized Summer Theatre festival 2024 at Delhi and in Leh in the month of June 2024 after highly successful Summer Theatre festival of Delhi segment, now the NSD Repertory Company bring its great collections of play productions for summer theatre festival in Leh from 26th June-30th June,2024 at Arya Nagarjuna

Auditorium (CIBS), Choglamsar, Leh. The Repertory Company of NSD has been providing a platform to the pass out’s from NSD and from other Theatre Schools in their academic interest and to perform plays professionally. This year the NSD Repertory Company entered into its 60th year successfully.

The festival will be inaugurated on 26 June, 2024 with the Indian Classical play “Abhijnanasakuntalam” playwright by Mahakavi Kalidas and Directed by Prof. Vidushi Rita Ganguly.

  • On 27th June 2024 the play “Laila Majunun” written by Ismail Chunara and Directed by Prof Ram Gopal Bajaj

  • On 28th June, 2024 “Maai Ri Mai Ka Se Kahun” a musical play based upon Vijaydan Detha story Dhuvidha and Directed by Ajay Kumar

  • On 29th June, 2024 “Babuji” written by Vibhanshu Vaibhav and Directed by Rajesh Singh.

  • On 30th June, 2024 will be concluded with the 25-year successful play “Taj Mahal Ka Tender” written by Ajay Shukla and Directed by Chittaranjan Tripathy.

The NSD is looking forward to watching the show. The Entry will be free. The theatre aficionados, Students and gatherings can be making it an excellent choice for families and friends looking for a unique experience.
