The Indian Women’s Hockey team participated in an intensive mental strengthening and team building camp at the prestigious Indian Naval Academy Ezhimala from 14 – 21 Jul 24. The camp featuring 30 players and support staff, was conducted to enhance mental resilience, instill a fighting spirit and foster camaraderie amongst the players.
The athletes were given an exclusive tour of the Academy’s state-of-the-art facilities, providing them insight into the rigorous and disciplined training environment that shapes a Naval officer. The camp’s structured programme included a variety of activities aimed at testing the players to their limits and reinforcing the importance of teamwork and coordination.
Major highlights of the camp included boat pulling, unarmed combat training, Naval drill, swimming, obstacle course training and endurance runs. A two-day competitive outdoor camp further promoted teamwork and strategic thinking. The camp culminated in a friendly match with the Academy’s hockey team. This transformative camp not only strengthened the mental fortitude of the Indian Women’s Hockey team but also solidified their commitment to excellence and perform their best.
