The Second Edition of Colombo Security Conclave Seminar on “Exchange of Information on Legislations, Cyber Policies, and Incident Mitigation” and Meeting of the Joint Working Group on Cyber Security were successfully hosted by India’s National Security Council Secretariat in collaboration with the National Forensics Science University at Gandhinagar, Gujarat on 30-31 July 2024.
The seminar saw active participation from delegates representing Member and Observer States of the Colombo Security Conclave which includes Bangladesh, India, Maldives, Mauritius, Seychelles, Sri Lanka and Colombo Security Conclave Secretariat.
Cyber Security, Protection of Critical Infrastructure & Technology is one of the significant pillars under the Colombo Security Conclave. This pillar is focused to develop more collaborative and unified approach on the protection of critical infrastructure, cybercrime, incident response & mitigation as well as emerging technologies. The seminar marked the beginning of exchanges between Colombo Security Conclave member and observer states on Cyber security Policies & Strategies, a deep dive into incident response and mitigation techniques, Digital Forensics investigations to counter cybercrimes and Cyber Threat Intelligence sharing.
The discussions revolved around various technological advancements, research challenges, and innovative approaches to make our cyberspace more secure and resilient. Participants shared their invaluable experiences in managing cyber security threats and deliberated to collaboratively explore solutions to specific challenges in the cyber security landscape.
The seminar concluded with a consensus on identifying key deliverables and build a more pragmatic approach in strengthening our commitment to enhance cyber security measures for bolstering regional security and safeguard the shared interests under the Colombo Security Conclave.
