MCX records turnover of Rs.9847.96 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.53476.98 crores in Options

0.17%, while CRUDEOIL Sep-24 futures contract gains by 0.14% : Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Sep-24 futures was reached at 18071 point

Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.63325.3 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 30 August 2024 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 9847.96 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 53476.98 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Sep-24 futures was reached at 18071 point.

Commodity Future Contracts:

Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 6530.53 crores. GOLD Oct-24 contract was down by 0.19% to Rs. 72051 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Aug-24 contract was up by 0.32% to Rs. 58007 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Aug-24 contract was down by 0.2% to Rs. 7035 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Sep-24 contract was down by 0.1% to Rs. 71591 per 10 gram.

SILVER Sep-24 contract was down by 0.17% to Rs. 84727 per kg, while SILVERM Aug-24 contract was down by 0.37% to Rs. 84567 per kg and SILVERMIC Aug-24 contract was down by 0.39% to Rs. 84600 per kg.

Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2559.91 crores with volume of 3553 lots and OI of 20861 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2248.75 crores with volume of 8698 lots and OI of 29844 lots.

Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1449.86 crores. COPPER Aug-24 contract was up by 1.21% to Rs. 807 per kg and ZINC Aug-24 contract was up by 1.97% to Rs. 273.9 per kg while ALUMINIUM Aug-24 contract was up by 2.74% to Rs. 234.55 per kg and LEAD Sep-24 contract was up by 0.22% to Rs. 186.35 per kg.

Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 972.19 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 102.11 crores, Lead futures Rs. 33.31 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 237.25 crores.

Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 1862.77 crores. CRUDEOIL Sep-24 contract was up by 0.14% to Rs. 6371 per BBL while NATURALGAS Sep-24 contract was up by 0.06% to Rs. 179.8 per MMBTU.

Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 537.16 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 1117.72 crores.

AGRI: MENTHAOIL Sep-24 contract was up by 0.31% to Rs. 986 per kg and COTTONCNDY Sep-24 without any changes 58000 per candy.

Options on Commodity Future Contracts:

Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 53476.98 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1094.1 crores.

Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.6400 was up by 3.05% to Rs. 152.00 with volume of 83978 lots & OI of 16278 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.6400 was up by 2.57% to Rs. 187.5 with volume of 71270 lots & OI of 11872 lots.

Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.180 was up by 4.5% to Rs. 11.60 with volume of 21723 lots & OI of 11074 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.180 was down by 1.29% to Rs. 11.45 with volume of 17796 lots & OI of 7643 lots.

Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.73000 was down by 7.22% to Rs. 688.00 with volume of 610 lots & OI of 729 lots, while Gold Put Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.71000 was up by 6.6% to Rs. 621.5 with volume of 1096 lots & OI of 795 lots.

Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.87000 was down by 2.2% to Rs. 3695.00 with volume of 225 lots & OI of 198 lots, while Silver Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.87000 was up by 1.56% to Rs. 3782.5 with volume of 188 lots & OI of 172 lots.
