MCX records turnover of Rs.9734.14 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.64920.76 crores in Options

GOLD Oct-24 futures contract drops by 0.09% and SILVER Sep-24 futures contract drops by 0.38%, while CRUDEOIL Sep-24 futures contract drops by 1.8% : Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Sep-24 futures was reached at 17817 point

Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.74656.06 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 03 September 2024 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 9734.14 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 64920.76 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Sep-24 futures was reached at 17817 point.

Commodity Future Contracts:

Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 5599.14 crores. GOLD Oct-24 contract was down by 0.09% to Rs. 71538 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Sep-24 contract was down by 0.1% to Rs. 57861 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Sep-24 contract was down by 0.09% to Rs. 7039 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Sep-24 contract was down by 0.18% to Rs. 71102 per 10 gram.

SILVER Sep-24 contract was down by 0.38% to Rs. 82149 per kg, while SILVERM Nov-24 contract was down by 0.6% to Rs. 84115 per kg and SILVERMIC Nov-24 contract was down by 0.59% to Rs. 84135 per kg.

Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2481.24 crores with volume of 3463 lots and OI of 20457 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1504.03 crores with volume of 5954 lots and OI of 31886 lots.

Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1926.39 crores. COPPER Sep-24 contract was down by 1.88% to Rs. 786.35 per kg and ZINC Sep-24 contract was down by 0.77% to Rs. 262.75 per kg while ALUMINIUM Sep-24 contract was down by 0.79% to Rs. 221 per kg and LEAD Sep-24 contract was down by 1% to Rs. 183.45 per kg.

Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1456.77 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 100.26 crores, Lead futures Rs. 42.80 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 222.04 crores.

Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 2213.33 crores. CRUDEOIL Sep-24 contract was down by 1.8% to Rs. 6110 per BBL while NATURALGAS Sep-24 contract was down by 0.76% to Rs. 183.2 per MMBTU.

Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1156.39 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 824.88 crores.

AGRI: MENTHAOIL Sep-24 contract was up by 0.06% to Rs. 970 per kg and COTTONCNDY Sep-24 contract was up by 0.58% to Rs. 59200 per candy.

Options on Commodity Future Contracts:

Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 64920.76 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1293.33 crores.

Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.6200 was down by 24.87% to Rs. 126.90 with volume of 97603 lots & OI of 26062 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.6100 was up by 54.44% to Rs. 160 with volume of 85362 lots & OI of 12178 lots.

Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.190 was down by 12.5% to Rs. 7.35 with volume of 13432 lots & OI of 7314 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.170 was up by 14.43% to Rs. 5.55 with volume of 6371 lots & OI of 5096 lots.

Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.72000 was down by 0.99% to Rs. 848.50 with volume of 599 lots & OI of 1156 lots, while Gold Put Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.71000 was up by 4.67% to Rs. 772.5 with volume of 615 lots & OI of 700 lots.

Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.85000 was down by 9.01% to Rs. 3070.00 with volume of 599 lots & OI of 636 lots, while Silver Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.80000 was up by 19.5% to Rs. 1823 with volume of 269 lots & OI of 617 lots.
