MCX records turnover of Rs.14785 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.39223 crores in Options

GOLD Oct-24 futures contract gains by 0.51% and SILVER Dec-24 futures contract gains by 2.21%, while CRUDEOIL Sep-24 futures contract gains by 1.07% : Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Sep-24 futures was reached at 18491 point

Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.54010.45 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 19 September 2024 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 14785.70 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 39223.55 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Sep-24 futures was reached at 18491 point.

Commodity Future Contracts:

Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 11270.30 crores. GOLD Oct-24 contract was up by 0.51% to Rs. 73426 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Sep-24 contract was up by 0.27% to Rs. 59428 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Sep-24 contract was up by 0.43% to Rs. 7207 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Oct-24 contract was up by 0.45% to Rs. 73360 per 10 gram.

SILVER Dec-24 contract was up by 2.21% to Rs. 90250 per kg, while SILVERM Nov-24 contract was up by 2.11% to Rs. 90101 per kg and SILVERMIC Nov-24 contract was up by 2.11% to Rs. 90103 per kg.

Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 4616.91 crores with volume of 6292 lots and OI of 21768 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 3307.28 crores with volume of 12280 lots and OI of 26761 lots.

Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 2170.28 crores. COPPER Sep-24 contract was up by 0.93% to Rs. 816.45 per kg and ZINC Sep-24 contract was up by 1.33% to Rs. 270.1 per kg while ALUMINIUM Sep-24 contract was up by 0.89% to Rs. 232.8 per kg and LEAD Sep-24 contract was up by 0.49% to Rs. 184.85 per kg.

Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1466.88 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 195.00 crores, Lead futures Rs. 49.02 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 318.14 crores.

Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 1337.69 crores. CRUDEOIL Sep-24 contract was up by 1.07% to Rs. 5976 per BBL while NATURALGAS Sep-24 contract was down by 0.16% to Rs. 193 per MMBTU.

Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 489.89 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 686.51 crores.

AGRI: MENTHAOIL Sep-24 contract was down by 0.87% to Rs. 937 per kg and COTTONCNDY Sep-24 contract was down by 0.03% to Rs. 58260 per candy.

Options on Commodity Future Contracts:

Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 39223.55 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 603.47 crores.

Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.5600 was up by 15.44% to Rs. 421.70 with volume of 426 lots & OI of 390 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.6800 was down by 5.94% to Rs. 904.6 with volume of 1 lots & OI of 1 lots.

Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.225 was down by 25% to Rs. 0.15 with volume of 388 lots & OI of 1521 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.195 was up by 3.13% to Rs. 6.6 with volume of 11167 lots & OI of 7736 lots.

Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.71000 was up by 11.08% to Rs. 2502.00 with volume of 13 lots & OI of 142 lots, while Gold Put Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.71000 was down by 56.28% to Rs. 47 with volume of 1211 lots & OI of 1637 lots.

Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.80000 was up by 7.85% to Rs. 10514.50 with volume of 1 lots & OI of 25 lots, while Silver Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.75000 was down by 35.19% to Rs. 221 with volume of 58 lots & OI of 103 lots.
