MCX records turnover of Rs.12458.76 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.49847.09 crores in Options: Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Sep-24 futures was reached at 18562 point

Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.62315.78 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 20 September 2024 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 12458.76 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 49847.09 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Sep-24 futures was reached at 18562 point.

Commodity Future Contracts:

Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 8981.99 crores. GOLD Oct-24 contract was up by 0.66% to Rs. 73922 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Sep-24 contract was up by 0.43% to Rs. 59591 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Sep-24 contract was up by 0.39% to Rs. 7233 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Oct-24 contract was up by 0.63% to Rs. 73818 per 10 gram.

SILVER Dec-24 contract was up by 0.46% to Rs. 90380 per kg, while SILVERM Nov-24 contract was up by 0.44% to Rs. 90233 per kg and SILVERMIC Nov-24 contract was up by 0.45% to Rs. 90244 per kg.

Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 4739.48 crores with volume of 6403 lots and OI of 23265 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1756.76 crores with volume of 6489 lots and OI of 26233 lots.

Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1996.13 crores. COPPER Sep-24 contract was down by 0.12% to Rs. 813.4 per kg and ZINC Sep-24 contract was down by 1% to Rs. 266.85 per kg while ALUMINIUM Sep-24 contract was down by 0.88% to Rs. 229.7 per kg and LEAD Sep-24 contract was down by 0.46% to Rs. 184.45 per kg.

Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1059.95 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 211 crores, Lead futures Rs. 57.06 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 507.18 crores.

Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 1532.46 crores. CRUDEOIL Oct-24 contract was down by 0.59% to Rs. 5928 per BBL while NATURALGAS Sep-24 contract was down by 0.2% to Rs. 195.5 per MMBTU.

Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 434.73 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 925.41 crores.

AGRI: MENTHAOIL Sep-24 contract was up by 0.14% to Rs. 930 per kg and COTTONCNDY Sep-24 contract was up by 0.15% to Rs. 58500 per candy.

Options on Commodity Future Contracts:

Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 49847.09 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 792.16 crores.

Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.6000 was down by 7.72% to Rs. 178 with volume of 42395 lots & OI of 14196 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.5900 was up by 1.8% to Rs. 187 with volume of 35125 lots & OI of 8670 lots.

Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.200 was up by 5.66% to Rs. 2.80 with volume of 58161 lots & OI of 25268 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.195 was down by 12.82% to Rs. 3.4 with volume of 49295 lots & OI of 11064 lots.

Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.74000 was up by 56.85% to Rs. 343.50 with volume of 3562 lots & OI of 1351 lots, while Gold Put Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.73000 was down by 58.66% to Rs. 105 with volume of 4120 lots & OI of 1792 lots.

Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.90000 was up by 6.1% to Rs. 4050 with volume of 667 lots & OI of 884 lots, while Silver Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.90000 was down by 7.65% to Rs. 3524.5 with volume of 396 lots & OI of 512 lots.
