MCX records turnover of Rs.16759.66 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.66271.29 crores in Options

GOLD Oct-24 futures contract gains by 0.21% and SILVER Dec-24 futures contract gains by 0.34%, while CRUDEOIL Oct-24 futures contract gains by 2.48% : Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Sep-24 futures was reached at 18660 point

Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.83039.25 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 24 September 2024 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 16759.66 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 66271.29 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Sep-24 futures was reached at 18660 point.

Commodity Future Contracts:

Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 11340.30 crores. GOLD Oct-24 contract was up by 0.21% to Rs. 74454 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Sep-24 contract was up by 0.16% to Rs. 59770 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Sep-24 contract was up by 0.4% to Rs. 7264 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Oct-24 contract was up by 0.23% to Rs. 74350 per 10 gram.

SILVER Dec-24 contract was up by 0.34% to Rs. 89535 per kg, while SILVERM Nov-24 contract was up by 0.34% to Rs. 89490 per kg and SILVERMIC Nov-24 contract was up by 0.3% to Rs. 89438 per kg.

Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 6159.37 crores with volume of 8242 lots and OI of 23227 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2548.05 crores with volume of 9456 lots and OI of 25997 lots.

Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 3023.25 crores. COPPER Sep-24 contract was up by 1.9% to Rs. 821.8 per kg and ZINC Sep-24 contract was up by 1.86% to Rs. 271.6 per kg while ALUMINIUM Sep-24 contract was up by 1.78% to Rs. 231 per kg and LEAD Sep-24 contract was up by 1.67% to Rs. 182.2 per kg.

Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1947.13 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 276.00 crores, Lead futures Rs. 67.66 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 519.63 crores.

Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 2498.24 crores. CRUDEOIL Oct-24 contract was up by 2.48% to Rs. 6044 per BBL while NATURALGAS Sep-24 contract was up by 1.66% to Rs. 220.1 per MMBTU.

Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 885.03 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 1330.86 crores.

AGRI: MENTHAOIL Sep-24 contract was up by 0.11% to Rs. 926 per kg and COTTONCNDY Sep-24 contract was down by 2.43% to Rs. 56900 per candy.

Options on Commodity Future Contracts:

Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 66271.29 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1071.5 crores.

Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.6000 was up by 42.56% to Rs. 214.70 with volume of 74076 lots & OI of 13800 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.6000 was down by 31.42% to Rs. 173.5 with volume of 55799 lots & OI of 13323 lots.

Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.240 was up by 8.03% to Rs. 16.15 with volume of 8751 lots & OI of 2579 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.215 was up by 3.05% to Rs. 6.75 with volume of 4377 lots & OI of 2089 lots.

Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.75000 was down by 49.45% to Rs. 23.00 with volume of 4977 lots & OI of 1423 lots, while Gold Put Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.74000 was down by 67.77% to Rs. 34 with volume of 6126 lots & OI of 1283 lots.

Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.92000 was up by 5.21% to Rs. 2794.50 with volume of 286 lots & OI of 320 lots, while Silver Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.90000 was down by 3.27% to Rs. 3945.5 with volume of 222 lots & OI of 540 lots.
