MoS Bhagirath Choudhary graced “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” event at NIAEM, Hyderabad

Union Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Shri Bhagirath Choudhary graced “Ek ped maa ke naam” event yesterday through Video Conference at National Institute for Agricultural Extension Management, Hyderabad.

Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Dr. Devesh Chaturvedi also took a round of various sections in the Department in Krishi Bhawan to monitor cleanliness drive. He, inter-alia, instructed the concerned officials to ensure that papers/files/books kept over/outside almirahs/wall-storages be reviewed and disposed off accordingly. He also instructed that unused office items/equipment be condemned immediately.

Further, the Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare administerd swachhata pledge to the officials and officers of the Department today.

Swachhata Hi Seva, 2024 (SHS, 2024) campaign being spearheaded by the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation and the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs,is being observed from 17th September to 1st October with the Theme of ‘Swabhav Swachhata – Sanskaar Swachhata’ and thereafter Swachh Bharat Diwas will be celebrated on the 2nd October, 2024.

 The Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare is participating vigorously in the Campaign.  Around 600 swachhata related activities are to be undertaken by the Department with all its subordinate/attached/autonomous bodies/Public Sector Undertaking/field offices spread all over the country during the Swachhata Hi Seva, 2024 campaign.

 On 17th September, 2024 i.e. the opening day of the Campaign, various activities have carried out by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare. Swachhata pledges have been administered in Small Farmers Agri Business Consortium, Dte. of Cashewnut and Cocoa Development, National Horticulture Board; Coconut Development Board; National Institute of Plant Health Management; Dte. of Sugarcane Development; Dte. of Extension; Dte. of Rice Development; Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers’ Rights Authority; Choudhary Charan Singh National Institute of Agricultural  Marketing; Dte. of Jute Development; Northern Region Farm Machinery Training & Testing Institute; Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine & Storage and National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management.

In addition, ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam / plantation drives’ have been carried out at Dte. of Arecanut and Species Development (Calicut); Dte. of Marketing & Inspection (Faridabad); Mahalanobis National Crop Forecast Centre; National Seed Research & Training Centre (Varanasi); Dte. of Cashewnut and Cocoa Development; National Horticulture Board; Coconut Development Board; Dte. of Sugarcane Development; Dte. of Extension; Dte. of Rice Development; Choudhary Charan Singh National Institute of Agricultural Marketing; Central Agmark Laboratory; Dte. of Cotton Development; Northern Region Farm Machinery Training & Testing Institute; Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine & Storage; Protection of Plant Varieties & Farmers’ Right Authority; National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management and Small Farmers’ Agro Consortium.
