MCX records turnover of Rs.11500.19 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.41185.91 crores in Options

GOLD Oct-24 futures contract gains by 0.04% and SILVER Dec-24 futures contract drops by 0.86%, while CRUDEOIL Oct-24 futures contract gains by 0.35% : Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Oct-24 futures was reached at 18801 point

Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.52687.43 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 30 September 2024 till 4:30 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 11500.19 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 41185.91 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Oct-24 futures was reached at 18801 point.

Commodity Future Contracts:

Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 7601.91 crores. GOLD Oct-24 contract was up by 0.04% to Rs. 74888 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Sep-24 contract was down by 0.36% to Rs. 61000 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Sep-24 contract was up by 0.39% to Rs. 7450 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Oct-24 contract was down by 0.19% to Rs. 74736 per 10 gram.

SILVER Dec-24 contract was down by 0.86% to Rs. 90614 per kg, while SILVERM Nov-24 contract was down by 0.8% to Rs. 90591 per kg and SILVERMIC Nov-24 contract was down by 0.83% to Rs. 90555 per kg.

Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2914.99 crores with volume of 3843 lots and OI of 18756 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2222.10 crores with volume of 8100 lots and OI of 27065 lots.

Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1923.59 crores. COPPER Sep-24 contract was up by 0.25% to Rs. 851.5 per kg and ZINC Sep-24 contract was down by 0.69% to Rs. 281.5 per kg while ALUMINIUM Sep-24 contract was down by 1.16% to Rs. 234.5 per kg and LEAD Oct-24 contract was down by 0.11% to Rs. 184.15 per kg.

Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1141.95 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 200.10 crores, Lead futures Rs. 56.19 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 348.68 crores.

Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 2012.79 crores. CRUDEOIL Oct-24 contract was up by 0.35% to Rs. 5714 per BBL while NATURALGAS Oct-24 contract was up by 0.66% to Rs. 245.7 per MMBTU.

Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 741.97 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 1027.47 crores.

AGRI: MENTHAOIL Sep-24 contract was up by 0.97% to Rs. 925 per kg and COTTONCNDY Nov-24 contract was up by 0.29% to Rs. 58250 per candy.

Options on Commodity Future Contracts:

Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 41185.91 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1033.73 crores.

Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.5800 was up by 7.41% to Rs. 163.80 with volume of 55387 lots & OI of 14797 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.5700 was down by 0.99% to Rs. 201 with volume of 52741 lots & OI of 7807 lots.

Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.280 was up by 9.62% to Rs. 5.70 with volume of 4154 lots & OI of 2500 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.190 was down by 3.7% to Rs. 1.3 with volume of 760 lots & OI of 2744 lots.

Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.77000 was down by 5.26% to Rs. 936.00 with volume of 263 lots & OI of 553 lots, while Gold Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.75000 was up by 4.71% to Rs. 1177.5 with volume of 293 lots & OI of 371 lots.

Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.91000 was down by 8.55% to Rs. 3764.00 with volume of 156 lots & OI of 69 lots, while Silver Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.91000 was up by 7.33% to Rs. 3974.5 with volume of 204 lots & OI of 207 lots.
