Indore, 27 November 2024: Indore Nagar Nigam has appointed India’s 1st female bodybuilder, Vandana Thakur as a brand ambassador to make this mission more effective. Vandana has showcased her talent on many national and international platforms and stages making India proud. Recently she has made all the nation, and international citizens proud by winning a silver medal in the Asian bodybuilding championship organized in the Indonesian city of Batam 2024. Not only this, she has illustrated her talent by winning a silver medal in Asian bodybuilding two times bronze, and two times silver in the national bodybuilding championship.
Expressing happiness Vandana Thakur says, “I feel proud to be a part of this clean city campaign. Cleanliness is not just the cleaning worker’s responsibility but It’s collectively our responsibility too. I appeal to all the residents of Indore City to keep the city clean and provide their support for the same. If we all give our dedication towards keeping the city clean it will not just be at the top but will also become an inspiration across the country. Let’s come together to make cleanliness a habit.”
The commissioner of Indore municipal corporation, Shivam Verma said, “Vandana Thakur has made her mark as a role model not only in the field of sports but also in terms of women empowerment in the society. Her association with Indore’s Swachhta Mission is an inspiration for all the citizens. Together we will further strengthen Indore’s cleanliness model.”
It is worth noting that Indore has also topped the results of Swachh Survekshan 2023. Indore has received the title of the cleanest city in the country for the seventh time. CM Mohan Yadav received this award in the Swachhta Survey program organized in Delhi. All the corporation employees including the city’s mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava have made an important contribution in the efforts of cleanliness. Along with this, the public participation of the city dwellers has also strengthened the mission.
