Mumbai, June 2025: Celebrated globally on 5th June, World Environment Day reminds us of our collective responsibility towards protecting the planet. From raising awareness about climate change to adopting sustainable practices, Environment Day encourages everyone to take meaningful action for a greener tomorrow. Reflecting on the significance of this day, Sony SAB artists Karuna Pandey, Vrihi Kodvara, Pariva Pranati, and Aditya Redij share their thoughts on the importance of environmental consciousness, personal eco-friendly habits, and how they aim to celebrate Earth Day by giving back to nature in their unique ways.
Karuna Pandey, who plays Pushpa in Pushpa Impossible, said: “The celebration of World Environment Day is important to raise awareness of the rapidly rising levels of pollution, climate change, and other issues that contribute to damaging the environment and threaten the survival of our planet.” She added, “After COVID-19, I feel we are aware of the importance of our environment. The simplest way to protect the Earth and our environment is to reduce, reuse, and recycle. We need to adopt sustainable ways to consume things and follow the three R’s to conserve natural resources and landfill space.”

Pariva Pranati, who plays the role of Vandana in Wagle Ki Duniya, Nayi Peedhi Naye Kissey, says, “As a mother, an actor, and a citizen, I believe it’s our responsibility to leave behind a greener, healthier planet for the next generation. World Environment Day is a beautiful reminder that every small step counts — whether it’s reducing waste, conserving water, or simply planting a tree. Change begins at home, and we all have the power to make a difference. It’s time we embrace the habit of reducing, reusing, and recycling—not just as a trend, but as a way of life.”
Aditya Redij, who plays the role of King Krishnadevraya in Tenali Rama, said, “As someone portraying a wise and just ruler in Tenali Rama, I’m constantly reminded of how deeply our ancestors respected nature. In today’s world, we must revive that sense of balance and responsibility. World Environment Day isn’t just a date—it’s a call to action. Let’s choose sustainability not just for ourselves, but for the generations to come.”
Vrihi Kodvara, who plays Swara in Pushpa Impossible, said, “I love plants, trees, and butterflies! My mom says we should treat Earth like our home, so I try to keep it clean and never waste water. On World Environment Day, I want everyone to plant one tree and reduce using plastic and polythene and promise to take care of nature every day!”
