Mumbai, July 2025: The world of cinema is always in search of fresh talent, and all eyes are now on Kush Jotwani, who is making a notable debut in Anurag Basu’s highly anticipated film Metro… In Dino. Playing the role of Anand, Kush steps into a pivotal character in what promises to be another layered, emotional story from the master director.
Working on a film of this scale under a visionary like Anurag Basu could be intimidating for a newcomer. But for Kush, the experience turned out to be a perfect blend of learning and comfort, thanks to the collaborative atmosphere on set. Beyond direction, it was the human connection that stood out—especially with his co-actors.

Talking about the guidance he received, Kush shares: “Shoulder shrugging was a character trait given to me by Basu Sir. It explained Anand’s carefree attitude and was key to the storyline. It took me a while to settle into the world of the film, but once I did, things flowed smoothly. Sir gave me the space to explore my craft freely, and that meant the world to me.”
He added, “One day I was early on set, sitting with Taani Ma’am and Basu Sir. We talked about my previous Amazon shows, and he congratulated me. Those moments are precious. He told me he was happy to see me blend into the character and that I’d finally found Anand.”
Kush recalled shooting his first scene, the song Ishq Ya Tharak, saying, “It was a big moment. I was nervous in my vanity van, knowing I’d be working alongside the best. But once action was called, everything clicked. The environment on set was so warm — the conversations, the discussions, it all felt right.”
He even shared a fun coincidence with Sara Ali Khan, mentioning how her brother Ibrahim and his brother Karan Jotwani studied at the same pre-school — Besant Montessori in Juhu.
Speaking of his chat with Basu about Ranbir Kapoor, he said, “Sir told me Ranbir is one of the most versatile and grounded actors he’s ever worked with. He’s a part of everything on set — the crew, the energy, the preparation. Basu Sir said, ‘If you ever want to sit down and talk about life and acting, talk to Ranbir.’ That really stayed with me.”
