Tapan Ghosh’s Experimental Cinema Model Gains Attention as AnBan Crosses 7 Million Views

Mumbai, July 15, 2025 – AnBan Soulmates Mein, the deeply human and emotionally raw film by writer-director Tapan Ghosh, has amassed over 7 million views on YouTube. But beyond its growing digital reach, what’s capturing attention is the unconventional and empowering way the film was made – blending storytelling with social purpose.

At the heart of Ghosh’s process is a unique “Earn While You Learn” model, where aspiring actors are given paid opportunities to work and learn on live film sets. Inspired by his earlier work in engineering and vocational training at Tema India and Leo Engineering Works, Ghosh has brought the same real-world, hands-on learning framework into the world of cinema.

“Some of these young talents came to us after exhausting their families’ savings on acting schools,” Ghosh recalls. “They worked hard, took risks, and gave everything emotionally. Many returned disillusioned from the TV industry – and here, we tried to build something that gave them dignity and momentum again.”

AnBan itself was shot without rigid storyboarding or rehearsals. Actors improvised freely, drawing from personal memories and raw emotions. In one pivotal scene, a first-time actress broke down, deviating from the script entirely – the moment was so powerful, Ghosh kept it in the final cut. “That’s when you realise storytelling doesn’t need polish – it needs truth,” he says.

The process mirrors the iterative, collaborative approach Ghosh once applied in engineering design. “In both worlds, we experiment, learn, and grow together,” he adds. “This is not about me; it’s about building a platform that empowers people through creation.”

As the film continues to attract organic viewership, Ghosh is opening his doors to anyone curious about the process. “We’re happy to share what we’ve built – whether you’re an aspiring actor, filmmaker, or just someone who believes in real, honest stories,” he says.

With AnBan Soulmates Mein, Tapan Ghosh has proven that storytelling can be a force not just for art – but for upliftment, learning, and authentic emotional connection.
