
KUSHINAGAR: A horrifying act of violence shook Kushinagar district in Uttar Pradesh after 24-year-old Hindu youth Nishant Singh was brutally murdered in broad daylight, sparking outrage and protests across the area. The incident occurred near the Kasya police station, leaving the community in shock.
According to police and eyewitnesses, Nishant was riding his motorcycle with friends when he was forcibly stopped by Mohammad Naushad and his associate Faisal. The attackers dragged him off the bike and carried out a gruesome assault, slitting his throat and stabbing him in the abdomen, in a brutal “Taliban-style” attack that horrified bystanders.
Eyewitnesses said the assault began after Nishant’s friend Kundan was attacked by the duo. When Nishant intervened to protect him, Naushad reportedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Nishant multiple times before fleeing the scene. Nishant was rushed to a hospital in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries, leaving his family devastated.

Nishant, the only child of his parents, was on his way to Kasiya village to buy fertilisers for his farm. In addition to helping his father with farming, he was preparing for Army recruitment and other competitive exams. His sudden and violent death has left the family shattered and the local community enraged.
Following the murder, locals blocked the Naika–Chhapra road, demanding immediate action and justice for Nishant. Police were deployed in large numbers to maintain law and order amid rising tensions.
Authorities have sent Nishant’s body for autopsy and launched a thorough investigation. Efforts are underway to track down Mohammad Naushad and Faisal, with police examining all angles to ensure swift justice for the victim.
