CHENNAI, March 2, 2026 – The streets of Chennai are set to witness a vibrant display of grit and philanthropy as 35 high-profile women entrepreneurs from the United Kingdom arrive to launch the “Let’s Goa 2026 Rickshaw Rally.” Partnering with Madras Midtown Round Table 42 (MMRT42) and Madras Midtown Ladies Circle 7 (MMLC7), the Sisterhood Group UK will navigate auto-rickshaws across a challenging 1,000-kilometer route from Chennai to Goa. The mission aims to raise between ₹1–3 crores to fund education and vocational skilling for women and children across Tamil Nadu.

Adventure Meets Altruism

This isn’t just a road trip; it’s a high-stakes fundraising marathon. The Sisterhood Group, founded in 2006, is renowned for taking on “extreme challenges”—from rowing the English Channel to racing across the Amazon—having already raised over £1 million for global causes.

“Our mission goes beyond adventure,” says Emma Sayle, founder of the Sisterhood Group. “It’s about empowering women, building networks, and creating a better future for children.”

Tangible Impact on the Ground

The collaboration between the UK entrepreneurs and the Chennai-based Round Table and Ladies Circle chapters has already yielded significant results from previous years:

  • Women’s Skilling Unit: A dedicated center providing vocational training and financial literacy.

  • Inclusive Education: Construction of specialized classrooms equipped for differently-abled students.

  • Freedom Through Education: MMRT42 and LC7 have already built over 75 classrooms, impacting 3,000+ students.

Leadership Perspectives

Siddharth Shankar, Chairman of MMRT42, emphasized the long-term vision: “We are not just supporting communities; we are building futures and unlocking potential at scale.”

Nanditha Vikram, Chairperson of LC7, highlighted the strength of female solidarity: “Transforming lives is inevitable when strong-willed, like-minded women come together.”

Event Details & How to Support

The public is invited to witness the flag-off ceremony and support the cause:

  • Date: Monday, March 2nd, 2026

  • Time: 5:00 PM

  • Venue: The Lady Andal Open School, New Giri Road, T. Nagar, Chennai
