New Delhi; Mar 02, 2026: Lotus Petal Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation committed to transforming the lives of underserved children through education and holistic development, today marked a milestone in its Vidya Sahyog Project with the ground-breaking ceremony for the Government School Transformation initiative at Chhotanagpur Balika High School in Ranchi.
The event, graced by the District Education Officer, Shri Vinay Kumar, Ranchi, as Chief Guest, alongside the CSR partners Concentrix, Lotus Petal Foundation, initiates construction of an academic building with dedicated classrooms and a toilet complex to enhance learning environments for young girls.
Shri Vinay Kumar, District Education Officer, Ranchi, said: “This groundbreaking at Chhotanagpur Balika High School, supported by Concentrix and led by Lotus Petal Foundation, is a vital step toward modern facilities and quality education for underprivileged children. We applaud their commitment to Jharkhand’s government schools.”
This first intervention in Jharkhand holds profound personal significance for Lotus Petal Foundation, Founder & Managing Trustee Kushal Raj Chakraborty, who grew up in Ranchi. While Lotus Petal’s efforts have primarily focused on Gurugram and surrounding areas, this expansion underscores a commitment to uplift the very community that shaped his early years. With this initiative of Government School Transformation, Lotus Petal has laid grounds for expansion in Jharkhand to support children in their education journey.
Kushal Raj Chakraborty, Founder & Managing Trustee, Lotus Petal Foundation, added “Ranchi is where my journey began, and returning to give back through the transformation of Chhotanagpur Balika High School feels deeply personal. Under our Vidya Sahyog Project, we’re building not just infrastructure, but brighter futures for underprivileged children. This is the first step in our vision to transform government schools across Jharkhand, ensuring every child has access to quality education regardless of background.”
The initiative aims to create safe, functional spaces that promote attendance, focus, and overall child development. Lotus Petal’s plans to scale these efforts statewide, partnering with local authorities and stakeholders to drive systemic change in public education.
About Lotus Petal Foundation:
Lotus Petal Foundation was founded in 2011 by an alumnus of IIM and has been working in the areas of Education, Nutrition, Livelihood, and Skill development. Promoting the idea of quality education for unprivileged children and cater to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) of providing quality education, gender equality, clean water and sanitation, reduced inequalities and building sustainable cities and communities, Lotus Petal Foundation is building an integrated educational and skill development campus named Lotus Petal Sr. Sec. School (LPSSS). The campus is primarily based on the idea of sustainable development with state-of-the-art infrastructure located at Dhunela, Sohna, Gurugram, spread over 5 acres, with a carpet area of 2,10,000 sq. ft. The school has been operational since April 2022 and caters to 1100+ students from Grade Nursery to 12th. The school is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and has been awarded the prestigious 5-Star GRIHA rating (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) under the Existing School category, recognizing it as a high-performing, environmentally sustainable school.
