FICCI FLO Chennai Hosts “Change of Guard 2025–2026” Celebrating Leadership, Legacy, and New Beginnings

Chennai, March 18, 2026: FICCI FLO Chennai successfully hosted its flagship annual event, “Change of Guard 2025–2026,” at the iconic ITC Grand Chola, marking a momentous transition of leadership and reaffirming its commitment to empowering women across industries.

Held in the presence of distinguished members, industry leaders, and guests, the evening celebrated the theme “New leadership. Same commitment. The evolution of excellence.” The ceremony signified a seamless leadership transition, recognising Ms. Niyati A. Mehta’s tenure as Chairperson for 2025–2026 and welcoming Dr. Amulya Rao as the Incoming Chairperson for 2026–2027.

The event was graced by Supriya Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Tamil Nadu (Environment, Climate Change & Forests), as the Chief Guest.

This was stated by Supriya Sahu, IAS, during her address at the event.

“Organizations like FICCI Flo can lead the way in building a more conscious and sustainable world. Every small action we take has the power to protect or harm our environment.
If we come together with purpose, the impact will be exponential.
Because the responsibility to preserve this planet belongs to all of us.”

Leadership Highlights

In her address, Ms. Niyati A. Mehta reflected on her tenure as Chairperson for 2025–2026, highlighting a year marked by innovation, collaboration, and meaningful strides in strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem for women. Drawing from her background in design, business, and community engagement, she spoke about the learnings and milestones achieved during her leadership, and expressed confidence in the chapter ahead for FLO.

Dr. Amulya Rao, Incoming Chairperson for 2026–2027, shared her vision for the year ahead, emphasizing her commitment to building on FLO’s strong foundation. She outlined plans to further drive impactful initiatives across healthcare, education, and community development, while fostering greater opportunities for women-led growth and leadership.

Cultural Highlight

The evening also featured a captivating musical performance by Anukriti Debnath, whose soulful performance added a vibrant and inspiring touch to the celebrations.

About the Leaders

Dr. Amulya Rao is a medical professional, education counselor, entrepreneur, and community leader with extensive experience across healthcare, education, and business. She is also Co-Founder of Maggam Saree Exhibitions and has held several leadership roles within FLO and other prominent organizations.

Ms. Niyati A. Mehta is a dynamic entrepreneur and accomplished jeweller, serving as Design Head at Mehta Jewellery and founder of Aurea. She has been an active leader within FLO Chennai, driving impactful initiatives and community engagement.

Profile of Ms. Supriya Sahu, IAS

Ms. Supriya Sahu, IAS is the Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Tamil Nadu, heading the Department of Environment, Climate Change, and Forests, with over 30 years in public service.

A recipient of the UNEP Champions of the Earth Award 2025, she has led major environmental initiatives in Tamil Nadu, including large-scale afforestation, mangrove expansion, wetland conservation, and species protection.

She also spearheaded the creation of the Tamil Nadu Green Climate Company (TNGCC), advancing mission-driven action on climate resilience, ecosystem restoration, and community-led conservation.
