MCX records turnover of Rs.12216.84 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.86570.72 crores in Options

Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.98791.73 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 04 September 2024 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 12216.84 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 86570.72 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Sep-24 futures was reached at 17799 point.

Commodity Future Contracts:

Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 7201.36 crores. GOLD Oct-24 contract was down by 0.08% to Rs. 71323 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Sep-24 contract was down by 0.08% to Rs. 57737 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Sep-24 contract was down by 0.13% to Rs. 7015 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Sep-24 contract was up by 0.1% to Rs. 70880 per 10 gram.

SILVER Sep-24 contract was down by 0.08% to Rs. 81146 per kg, while SILVERM Nov-24 contract was down by 0.03% to Rs. 83303 per kg and SILVERMIC Nov-24 contract was down by 0.04% to Rs. 83307 per kg.

Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 3736.82 crores with volume of 5241 lots and OI of 19763 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1515.28 crores with volume of 6080 lots and OI of 33676 lots.

Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1614.70 crores. COPPER Sep-24 contract was down by 0.36% to Rs. 782.55 per kg and ZINC Sep-24 contract was down by 1.75% to Rs. 260.8 per kg while ALUMINIUM Sep-24 contract was down by 1.3% to Rs. 219.75 per kg and LEAD Sep-24 contract was down by 0.65% to Rs. 183.45 per kg.

Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 968.98 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 156.45 crores, Lead futures Rs. 24.61 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 319.54 crores.

Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 3419.81 crores. CRUDEOIL Sep-24 contract was up by 0.83% to Rs. 5968 per BBL while NATURALGAS Sep-24 contract was up by 0.76% to Rs. 186.2 per MMBTU.

Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1939.86 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 1167.34 crores.

AGRI: MENTHAOIL Sep-24 contract was up by 0.35% to Rs. 973 per kg and COTTONCNDY Sep-24 contract was up by 0.51% to Rs. 59500 per candy.

Options on Commodity Future Contracts:

Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 86570.72 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1729.46 crores.

Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.6000 was up by 12.82% to Rs. 146.10 with volume of 96072 lots & OI of 18415 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.5900 was down by 12.04% to Rs. 129.3 with volume of 129495 lots & OI of 12198 lots.

Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.185 was up by 11.43% to Rs. 11.70 with volume of 18702 lots & OI of 4816 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.180 was down by 6.63% to Rs. 7.75 with volume of 19630 lots & OI of 8219 lots.

Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.72000 was down by 0.67% to Rs. 745.00 with volume of 1266 lots & OI of 1258 lots, while Gold Put Option Sep-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.71000 was up by 3.5% to Rs. 842 with volume of 774 lots & OI of 650 lots.

Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.85000 was up by 1.03% to Rs. 2880.00 with volume of 264 lots & OI of 619 lots, while Silver Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.80000 was up by 3.07% to Rs. 1965 with volume of 232 lots & OI of 717 lots.
