MCX records turnover of Rs.9003.55 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.60825.04 crores in Options: Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Oct-24 futures was reached at 18870 point

Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.69830. crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 01 October 2024 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 9003.55 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 60825.04 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Oct-24 futures was reached at 18870 point.

Commodity Future Contracts:

Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 4565.65 crores. GOLD Oct-24 contract was up by 0.5% to Rs. 75243 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Oct-24 contract was up by 0.26% to Rs. 61145 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Oct-24 contract was up by 0.27% to Rs. 7461 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Oct-24 contract was up by 0.32% to Rs. 75080 per 10 gram.

SILVER Dec-24 contract was up by 0.47% to Rs. 91148 per kg, while SILVERM Nov-24 contract was up by 0.39% to Rs. 91024 per kg and SILVERMIC Nov-24 contract was up by 0.43% to Rs. 91030 per kg.

Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1570.62 crores with volume of 2072 lots and OI of 18300 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1485.17 crores with volume of 5425 lots and OI of 27201 lots.

Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1809.45 crores. COPPER Oct-24 contract was up by 0.29% to Rs. 853.85 per kg and ZINC Oct-24 contract was up by 1.16% to Rs. 283.8 per kg while ALUMINIUM Oct-24 contract was up by 0.65% to Rs. 239.15 per kg and LEAD Oct-24 contract was up by 0.16% to Rs. 184.6 per kg.

Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1168.79 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 130.75 crores, Lead futures Rs. 61.45 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 318.72 crores.

Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 2624.75 crores. CRUDEOIL Oct-24 contract was down by 1.04% to Rs. 5682 per BBL while NATURALGAS Oct-24 contract was down by 0.78% to Rs. 242.1 per MMBTU.

Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1205.61 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 1113.65 crores.

AGRI: MENTHAOIL Oct-24 contract was down by 0.19% to Rs. 933 per kg and COTTONCNDY Nov-24 contract was down by 0.33% to Rs. 57800 per candy.

Options on Commodity Future Contracts:

Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 60825.04 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1517.31 crores.

Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.5800 was down by 12.18% to Rs. 140.60 with volume of 70413 lots & OI of 14581 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.5700 was up by 16.85% to Rs. 195.6 with volume of 87906 lots & OI of 9829 lots.

Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.250 was down by 7.91% to Rs. 11.65 with volume of 10125 lots & OI of 4817 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.240 was up by 6.87% to Rs. 14 with volume of 12501 lots & OI of 5815 lots.

Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.77000 was up by 10.25% to Rs. 1038.00 with volume of 203 lots & OI of 562 lots, while Gold Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.74000 was down by 9.21% to Rs. 690 with volume of 191 lots & OI of 887 lots.

Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was up by 3.02% to Rs. 2402.50 with volume of 200 lots & OI of 1000 lots, while Silver Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.90000 was down by 6.25% to Rs. 3163 with volume of 129 lots & OI of 547 lots.
