CRUDE OIL futures gains by 2.13% while GOLD futures gains by 0.16% and SILVER futures gains by 0.24%

MCX records turnover of Rs.8650.1 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.46604.52 crores in Options: Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Oct-24 futures reaches at 19052 point

Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.55257.09 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 04 October 2024 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 8650.1 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 46604.52 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Oct-24 futures was reached at 19052 point.

Commodity Future Contracts:

Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 4959.60 crores. GOLD Oct-24 contract was up by 0.16% to Rs. 75640 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Oct-24 contract was up by 0.25% to Rs. 61561 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Oct-24 contract was up by 0.13% to Rs. 7501 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Oct-24 contract was down by 0.43% to Rs. 75500 per 10 gram.

SILVER Dec-24 contract was up by 0.24% to Rs. 93197 per kg, while SILVERM Nov-24 contract was up by 0.3% to Rs. 93100 per kg and SILVERMIC Nov-24 contract was up by 0.31% to Rs. 93116 per kg.

Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1549.28 crores with volume of 2027 lots and OI of 17810 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1538.85 crores with volume of 5500 lots and OI of 26716 lots.

Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1537.36 crores. COPPER Oct-24 contract was up by 0.32% to Rs. 855.3 per kg and ZINC Oct-24 contract was up by 1.23% to Rs. 287.45 per kg while ALUMINIUM Oct-24 contract was up by 0.79% to Rs. 242.55 per kg and LEAD Oct-24 contract was up by 0.16% to Rs. 186.15 per kg.

Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 938.52 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 134.29 crores, Lead futures Rs. 70.62 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 251.18 crores.

Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 2147.22 crores. CRUDEOIL Oct-24 contract was up by 2.13% to Rs. 6292 per BBL while NATURALGAS Oct-24 contract was up by 1.24% to Rs. 252.3 per MMBTU.

Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1035.63 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 866.55 crores.

AGRI: MENTHAOIL Oct-24 contract was down by 0.09% to Rs. 918 per kg and COTTONCNDY Nov-24 contract was down by 0.24% to Rs. 57320 per candy.

Options on Commodity Future Contracts:

Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 46604.52 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1439.69 crores.

Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.6200 was up by 45.12% to Rs. 346.40 with volume of 45175 lots & OI of 7180 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.6200 was down by 9.83% to Rs. 254 with volume of 31657 lots & OI of 4471 lots.

Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.280 was up by 20.2% to Rs. 5.95 with volume of 4948 lots & OI of 2562 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.240 was down by 8.87% to Rs. 9.25 with volume of 7278 lots & OI of 5303 lots.

Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.76000 was up by 4.69% to Rs. 1740.00 with volume of 312 lots & OI of 308 lots, while Gold Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.75000 was down by 3.87% to Rs. 918 with volume of 112 lots & OI of 399 lots.

Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.93000 was up by 3.4% to Rs. 4167.50 with volume of 323 lots & OI of 279 lots, while Silver Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.90000 was down by 3.83% to Rs. 2445 with volume of 154 lots & OI of 531 lots.
