New Delhi, August 2025: This Independence season, New Delhi is set to witness an unforgettable confluence of literature, poetry, music, theatre and art as Jashn-e-Adab Sahityotsav unveils its 14th Foundation Day with a two-day cultural extravaganza “Vande Mataram”, dedicated to celebrating 78 glorious years of India’s Independence.

From the soulful strains of sitar and qawwali to the power of classical dance and the magic of Mushaira and Kavi Sammelan, the festival promises to be a living canvas of India’s artistic and literary heritage.

Day 1 – 23rd August
• Theatre & Music: Rajesh Kumar’s acclaimed play “Pagdi Sambhal Jatta” by Asmita Theatre Group, followed by a sitar recital by prodigy Adhiraj Chaudhry.
• Inaugural Ceremony: To be graced by dignitaries, opening with Kathak exponent Vidha Lal & Group.
• Evening of Elegance: Ghazal & Thumri renditions by Vidya Shah.
• “Shab-e-Rang” Mushaira: A star-studded poetic gathering with celebrated voices including Dr. Q. N. Mishal, Sunil Panwar, Rehman Musavvir, and others.

Day 2 – 24th August
• Youth Mushaira “Nau-Bahar”: Young poets like Ranjan Nigam, Imran Rahi, Shakir Dehlvi bringing fresh voices.
• Qawwali: Rais Anis Sabri & Group invoking the Sufi spirit.
• Sur Sadhna: Classical brilliance by Padma Bhushan Pt. Sajan Mishra & Swaransh Mishra.
• “Hindi” Kavi Sammelan: A poetic feast with stalwarts like Prof. Waseem Barelvi, Padma Shri Sunil Jogi, Ashok Chakradhar and more.
• Grand Finale: “Adbi Mushairon Ka Safar” – an insightful conversation between Prof. Waseem Barelvi and Kunwar Ranjeet Chauhan.
