KANPUR, March 25, 2026 — A two-day national seminar at D.A.V. College, Kanpur, titled “Indian Knowledge Tradition: Past, Present, and Future—From the Perspective of Physics,” concluded today with a powerful message: the future of global science may be hidden in India’s ancient past.

Organized by the Department of Physics, the event brought together leading scholars to discuss how Vedic concepts like Akasha and Prana provided the building blocks for modern revolutionary theories.

Key Highlights from the Seminar:

  • The Tesla-Vivekananda Connection: Professor Anokhe Lal Pathak detailed how Nikola Tesla used Vedic terminology to understand the relationship between matter and energy.

  • Oppenheimer’s Ethical Compass: The ‘Father of the Atomic Bomb’ turned to the Bhagavad Gita to navigate the complex moral landscape of nuclear physics.

  • The Roots of the Atom: Speakers highlighted that Sage Kanada proposed the concept of the Parmanu (atom) over 2,500 years ago, long before John Dalton’s modern atomic theory.

  • Modern Utility: Professor Abhishek Johari emphasized that this “ancient science” is now being applied to sustainable farming and holistic medicine, proving its contemporary relevance.

Distinguished Guests

The valedictory session featured Professor R.K. Dwivedi (Director, CDC Kanpur) as Chief Guest, welcomed by Principal Arun Dixit and HOD Dr. Rajiv Kumar. Dr. Pragya Agarwal of CSJM University and Organizing Secretary Dr. Abhay Saxena were also instrumental in the seminar’s success.
