Lucknow. Hindu side has got another victory in the Gyanvapi Masjid case. The District Court of Varanasi, while giving a big decision, has given the Hindu side the right to worship in the Vyas basement of Gyanvapi. Also, the court has ordered the administration to make arrangements for barricading within seven days. Vyas Tahkhana is located below the mosque. Idols of Hindu gods and goddesses have been found here. ASI survey has found evidence of the presence of many important Hindu temples in it.
Now puja will be held here daily on behalf of Kashi Vishwanath Trust Board. Worship continued here till November 1993. The Hindu side has claimed that the then state government had stopped the worship in 1993. Now we have got the right to worship again. Hindu side’s lawyer Vishnu Shankar Jain said that the basement of the Vyas complex is right in front of the place where Lord Nandi is seated. Worship used to take place here till 1993, but in November 1993, Mulayam Singh Yadav’s government closed it illegally. Also the priests performing the puja were removed.
At the same time, the Muslim side had demanded to dismiss the petition citing the Place of Worship Act, but the court rejected the petition of the Muslim side and gave its verdict in favor of the Hindus. On January 17, Vyas ji’s basement was taken into its possession by the district administration. Cleanliness was done here during the ASI survey. The custodian of Vyas basement has been appointed District Magistrate of Varanasi.
