Programme Implementation is releasing the employment related statistics in the formal sector covering the period September 2017 onwards, using information on the number of subscribers who have subscribed under three major schemes, namely the Employees\u2019 Provident Fund (EPF) Scheme, the Employees\u2019 State Insurance (ESI) Scheme and the National Pension Scheme (NPS).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The full report can be accessed at:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mospi.gov.in\/sites\/default\/files\/press_release\/Payroll%20Reporting%20in%20India-An%20Employment%20Perspective%20-%20May%2C%202024%20230724.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Payroll Reporting in India-An Employment Perspective &#8211; May, 2024 230724.pdf (mospi.gov.in)<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>2.1 Employees\u2019 Provident Funds Scheme:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>During the year 2023-24, the total number ofnew EPF subscriberswas 1,09,93,119.<\/li>\n<li>The total number of new EPF subscribers\u00a0during the month of May 2024 is\u00a09,84,681 which was 9,30,990 during the month of April 2024.<\/li>\n<li>Age wise percentage distribution of new EPF Subscriber:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.pib.gov.in\/WriteReadData\/userfiles\/image\/11111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111176T.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>2.2 Employees\u2019 State Insurance Scheme:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>During the year 2023-24, the newly registered employees and paying contribution under ESI schemewas1,67,60,872.<\/li>\n<li>The newly registered employees and paying contribution under the ESI scheme\u00a0during the month of May 2024 is\u00a017,14,764 which was 12,20,360 during the month of April 2024.<\/li>\n<li>Age-wise percentage distribution of newly registered employees and contributing under ESI scheme:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.pib.gov.in\/WriteReadData\/userfiles\/image\/222222222222222V2HV.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>2.3 National Pension Scheme (NPS):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>During the year 2023-24, total number of new contributing subscribers under NPS was 9,73,428.<\/li>\n<li>The total number of new contributing subscribers under NPS\u00a0during the month of May 2024 is\u00a079,080 which was 1,10,665 during the month of April 2024.<\/li>\n<li>Age-wise percentage distribution of new subscribers contributing under NPS:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.pib.gov.in\/WriteReadData\/userfiles\/image\/3333E2HK.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ministry of Statistics &amp;
