{"id":11857,"date":"2024-07-29T22:27:17","date_gmt":"2024-07-29T16:57:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/matribhumisamachar.com\/en\/?p=11857"},"modified":"2024-07-29T22:27:17","modified_gmt":"2024-07-29T16:57:17","slug":"cwc-wins-water-department-of-the-year-at-2024-global-watertech-summit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/matribhumisamachar.com\/en\/2024\/07\/29\/cwc-wins-water-department-of-the-year-at-2024-global-watertech-summit\/","title":{"rendered":"CWC Wins \u2018Water Department of the Year\u2019 at 2024 Global WaterTech Summit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Central Water Commission (CWC) has been honoured with the \u00a0GEEF Global WaterTech Award\u00a0 under the category \u2018Water Department of the Year\u2019 at the prestigious Global Water Tech Summit -2024 organized by the Global Energy and Environment Foundation (GEEF) in New Delhi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.pib.gov.in\/WriteReadData\/userfiles\/image\/image0013NOO.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Global Awards recognises the most important achievements in the water sector in several categories to honour and reward initiatives in the water, wastewater and desalination sectors on innovation, technology, conservation and sustainable development.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Global Energy and Environment Foundation acknowledged the Central Water Commission&#8217;s (CWC) pivotal role in hydro-meteorological data collection, flood forecasting, reservoir storage monitoring, water quality monitoring, coastal area management, appraisal and monitoring of water resources projects, and resolving inter-state water issues.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Additionally foundation recognised several new initiatives taken by CWC like\u00a0 interactions with the Water Resources\/ Irrigation\/ Jal Shakti Departments of all the States\/ UTs to enhance synergy in the works being done by CWC and those undertaken by the States\/ UTs in various areas related to Water Resources. This would lead to better serving the needs of the States\/ UTs\u00a0 venturing into the field of Urban Hydrology, by capacity building of the State officials, developing capabilities in the field of\u00a0 the Extended Hydrological Prediction (EHP), in-house development of mobile app \u2018Floodwatch India\u2019 for dissemination of flood related information to the public at large etc<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.pib.gov.in\/WriteReadData\/userfiles\/image\/image0026ZTU.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">While receiving the award at the summit, Chairman of CWC, Shri Kushvinder Vohra presented an insightful overview of the water resources scenario in India, highlighting the significant expectations from the industry to drive innovation and sustainability in water management.
