{"id":17199,"date":"2024-09-11T18:57:31","date_gmt":"2024-09-11T13:27:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/matribhumisamachar.com\/en\/?p=17199"},"modified":"2024-09-11T18:57:31","modified_gmt":"2024-09-11T13:27:31","slug":"nhrc-extends-deadline-for-2024-human-rights-short-film-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/matribhumisamachar.com\/en\/2024\/09\/11\/nhrc-extends-deadline-for-2024-human-rights-short-film-competition\/","title":{"rendered":"NHRC Extends Deadline for 2024 Human Rights Short Film Competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), India has decided to extend the last date of sending the entries for its 10<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Annual Human Rights Short Film Competition, 2024 by a month from 30<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0August to 30<sup>th<\/sup>September, 2024 in view of several requests from various parts of the country in this regard.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Short Film Awards scheme was instituted by the Commission in 2015. The scheme aims to encourage and acknowledge cinematic and creative efforts of Indian citizens, irrespective of their age, towards promoting and protecting human rights. In all previous competitions, the Commission received tremendous response from different parts of the country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The short films may be in English or any Indian language with subtitles in English. The duration of the short film should be a minimum of 3 minutes and a maximum of 10 minutes. The short film could be a documentary, a dramatization of real stories, or a work of fiction. The film can be in any technical shooting and filmmaking format, including animation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The themes of short films should be based on various socio-economic, cultural, and political rights. The film could be a documentary, dramatization of real stories, or a work of fiction, in any technical format, including animation, within the ambit of the following:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Right to life, liberty, equality and dignity<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Covering issues specific to bonded and child labour, women &amp; children\u2019s rights,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Rights in challenges of elderly persons<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Rights of persons with disability<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Manual scavenging, right to healthcare<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Issues of fundamental freedoms<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Human tra\ufb00icking<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Domestic violence<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Human rights violation due to police atrocities<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Custodial violence and torture<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Socio-economic disparities<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Rights of Nomadic and Denotified Tribes<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Prison reforms<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Right to education<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Right to clean environment including environmental hazards impacting life on planet earth<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Right to work<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Right to equality before law<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Right to food and nutritional security<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Rights of LGBTQI+<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Human rights violation due to displacement on account of either man-made or natural calamity<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Celebrating human rights and values in Indian diversity<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Development initiatives improving life and living standards, etc.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There is no entry fee or bar on the number of entries an individual can send to participate in the contest. However, the participants must send each film separately with a duly filled-in entry form.
