Mumbai, February 2025: Highlighting Lord Hanuman\u2019s transformation from a spirited child to a divine protector, Sony SAB\u2019s Veer Hanuman is a journey through the life of one of India\u2019s most revered gods. The show, which launches on 11th March, will air every Monday to Saturday at 7.30 PM, and will bring to life Lord Hanuman\u2019s lesser-known tales on a grand scale, with intricate sets, elaborate costumes, and larger-than-life characters. The makers have now unveiled the first look of its key characters\u2014Bali and Sugreev (Mahir Pandhi), Anjani (Sayli Salunkhe), Kesari (Arav Chowdharry), and young Lord Hanuman (Aan Tiwari). Every aspect, from their intricately designed attire and ornate jewellery to the precise makeup, has been carefully curated to highlight their personalities.<\/p>\n
Each character in Veer Hanuman is visually distinct as it carries the essence of their role; Mahir Pandhi\u2019s look as Bali and Sugreev are designed to contrast each other. Bali\u2019s look is fierce and warrior-like, featuring brown Viking-inspired hair. His deep red and purple attire symbolizes his ambition and to enhance his imposing presence, he wears Airavat-themed jewellery. Sugreev, on the other hand, carries a gentler aura. He has shoulder-length hair and wears sun-motif jewellery. His yellow-green costume, inspired by the Ajanta and Ellora caves symbolize his devotion and wisdom.<\/p>\n
Sayli Salunkhe as Anjani embodies grace and divinity. She wears an apsara-inspired look crafted by murti artists from Kumartuli. The headgear of the Apsara look is made of Shola (shreds of wood). The makeup and styling are inspired by the Alpona art, adding richness to her divine look. Arav Chowdharry as Kesari, the noble king, is adorned in a mustard-red silk woven drape. His crown is designed to resemble India\u2019s ancient mountains and terrains, symbolizing his strength and righteousness as a warrior and a father.<\/p>\n
Finally, Aan Tiwari as young Lord Hanuman brings to life the innocence and boundless energy of the divine vanar. His look beautifully captures his playful spirit and is seen carrying a mighty gada (club) in his iconic style. All elements of the looks have been crafted with intention, ensuring that these characters feel both real and larger than life.<\/p>\n

Mahir Pandhi playing the role of Bali & Sugreev said, “Playing both Bali and Sugreev is one of the biggest opportunities I have come across, and their contrasting looks helped me embody their individual characteristics so much better. The moment I put on Bali\u2019s outfit, with the deep reds and heavy warrior jewellery, I could feel his power and intensity. Sugreev, on the other hand, has a grounded energy; his costume adds warmth to his personality. It\u2019s amazing how much a look can shape a character, and I think audiences will immediately resonate with their stark personalities when they see them on screen.”<\/p>\n
Sayli Salunkhe who essays the role of Anjani commented, \u201cAnjani\u2019s look is truly special, the costumes and jewellery are inspired by the elegance of ancient temples and Ajanta Ellora art, capturing both her divine presence and her strength as a mother. The first time I wore the costume, I felt an instant connection to her. It was like stepping into the shoes of someone who carries immense love and strength in equal measure. She is powerful, but her strength comes from love, and I hope that reflects on screen.”<\/p>\n
Arav Chowdharry playing the role of Kesari said, “Kesari is a noble king, but his look denotes his duty as a father and protector. The mustard-red silk and the crown mirror the landscapes of his kingdom. The first time I put it on, I could feel the weight of responsibility that comes with playing him. He\u2019s a leader who stands for righteousness. I love that my outfit blends strength with simplicity. Every time I wear it I am reminded of who Kesari is – a man of resolute faith and a heart full of love for his son.”<\/p>\n
