Mumbai, March 2025: From Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures and starring Jason Momoa and Jack Black, \u201cA Minecraft Movie,\u201d directed by Jared Hess, is the first-ever big screen, live-action adaptation of Minecraft, the best-selling video game of all time. The film will be released in theatres on April 4, 2025 in 3D and IMAX 3D in Hindi and English.<\/p>\n
Mamoa who plays Garrett “The Garbage Man” geared himself up every day before he got on set by listening to songs to get him into the spirit of the character. He says \u201cThe first song I would listen to when we were making this movie was Skid Row’s \u2018I Remember You,\u2019 and something by Billy Idol,\u201d he says. \u201cThere was lots of stuff from the second half of the \u201880s, when Garrett (my character) was a young rock star gamer. Those years were huge for me too\u2014Guns N\u2019 Roses. I was around 10 years old, and it was fun to go back to that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Momoa remembers being intrigued when producer Cale Boyter, whom he had got to know very well when they made \u2018Dune\u2019 together, first mentioned the movie. Recounts Momoa: \u201cCale was like, \u2018I have this crazy idea. It’s a comedy and, dude, you’d be perfect for this role. Will you do it?\u2019 And I said yeah, because I trust Cale. It’s my first movie I’ve done like this, a live action movie where it’s going into a world like this, but it just happens to be the biggest one in history. It’s amazing.”<\/p>\n
Interestingly, when Hess joined the project, Momoa was even more pleased to be on board and he enjoyed working with Hess. \u201cJared has a weird, amazing sense of comedy, \u2018Napoleon Dynamite\u2019 is absolutely brilliant and so is \u2018Nacho Libre.\u2019 If I can always keep working for Jared, I will. I love his movies. He’s pretty amazing at that world-building. He was the perfect choice for this movie.\u201d As for working with Jack Black, Momoa was thrilled. \u201cI love Jack Black so much, I love everything he does. I was like, Cale, you have to get Jack Black. He had to be in it.\u201d
\nThe film also stars Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks, Sebastian Hansen, with Jennifer Coolidge. Warner Bros.
