New York, New York–(Newsfile Corp. – May 16, 2025) – GSH Contemporary has unveiled its inaugural exhibition, SUTTON 78, in collaboration with Sutton Tower, Manhattan’s tallest new waterfront tower. The 78th-floor penthouse has been transformed into a dynamic showcase of immersive installations by internationally acclaimed artists Kimsooja, Zo\u00eb Buckman, Francisco Sierra, Raphael Hefti, and Victoria Holdt. Each work enters into a compelling dialogue with the building’s architecture and sweeping skyline views.<\/p>\n

Opening on May 5th, SUTTON 78 is the debut project by GSH Contemporary, a new initiative by Gerber & Stauffer Fine Arts, an international art dealership established in 2010 by Manuel Gerber and Thomas Staffer, based in Z\u00fcrich, Switzerland.<\/p>\n

“Our mission is to build a globally connected ecosystem that transcends traditional market roles, with the aim of empowering artists, inspiring a generation of collectors, and creating dynamic collaborations across industries,” says Hannah Halbheer, GSH Contemporary’s project lead.<\/p>\n

The exhibition’s opening night coincided with the start of New York Art Week and was listed by Art Cube as one of the top 10 must-see shows in the city, alongside major exhibitions like Rashid Johnson at the Guggenheim. The penthouse setting drew an international art crowd, all eager to experience the transformative installations firsthand.<\/p>\n

Guests found themselves not just observing the works, but moving through them-surrounded by light, texture, and spatial interventions that made the architecture itself feel alive. As a veil of clouds settled over the space, the atmosphere took on a surreal, almost dreamlike quality. The weather added a compelling, unexpected layer to the experience, leaving many guests eager to return and see the works again in a different light.<\/p>\n

This curated project brings together a group of internationally recognized artists – Kimsooja, Zo\u00eb Buckman, Francisco Sierra, Raphael Hefti, and Victoria Holdt – to create immersive installations in dialogue with the building’s architecture and surrounding view of the skyline. The participating artists have been shown at major institutions such as the Venice Biennale, MoMA, the Whitney, Bourse de Commerce, Centre Pompidou, and Art Basel.<\/p>\n
