Raipur:\u00a0<\/strong>Chhattisgarh government is all set to develop a grand corridor at the ancient Bhoramdeo temple complex in Kabirdham district. The \u2018Bhoramdeo Corridor\u2019 will come up with an estimated cost of around Rs 146 crore, informed the government in an official statement on December 24.<\/p>\n The corridor is being developed as part of the Union Government\u2019s Swadesh Darshan Yojna 2.0 and on lines of Kashi Vishwanath temple corridor. The ground-breaking ceremony for the project is scheduled to be held in the last week of December and will be attended by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Sekhawat.<\/p>\n The proposed project will encompass the overall development of the main temple, Cherki Mahal, Madwa Mahal, Ramchua and Sarodha Dadar. The government says this is the first time that modern initiative like water treatment plant is being implemented in the 1000-year-old history of the temple.<\/p>\n The corridor upon completion will have six entry gates, a park and a museum, decorated boundary walls, drinking water from borewell, tree plantation area and a shade on lines of Kashi Vishwanath corridor, Varanasi. Beautification of the historic pond will also be done under the project with green areas, seating areas, and pedestrian paths coming up along its banks.<\/p>\n The corridor will also have a modern shade for devotees which will be equipped with all the modern facilities including clean drinking water and resting facility, providing a secured and comfortable stay to the Kanwar Yatris and other devotees visiting the ancient religious site.<\/p>\n The Bhoramdeo Corridor project upon completion will provide a new impetus to religious and cultural tourism along enhancing the regional economy. The project will also create job opportunities for the local youths, added the statement issued by the government. \u201cIt will strengthen state\u2019s cultural identity at national level by connecting its ancient heritage with modern amenities,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n Also called the \u2018Khajuraho of Chhattisgarh,\u2019 Bhoramdeo is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Bhagwan Shiv. The temple was carved on rocky stones and features Nagar style.
