Oregon, Colorado, and New Mexico permit psychedelics for medical purposes.<\/p>\n<p>Between 1972 and 2025, voters decided 83 marijuana-related measures and three psychedelics-related measures, approving the majority of both.<\/p>\n<p><b>Abortion Policy<\/b><br \/>Abortion remains a central ballot issue following the U.S. Supreme Court&#8217;s 2022 <i>Dobbs <\/i>decision.<\/p>\n<p>In 2026, voters in six states may consider <a href=\"https:\/\/api.newsfilecorp.com\/redirect\/A83J2hpnNG\">abortion-related measures<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><u>States with Certified Measures<\/u>: Missouri, Nevada, and Virginia<\/li>\n<li><u>States with Potential Measures<\/u>: Idaho, Nebraska, Oregon<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In 2024, voters decided on 11 abortion-related ballot measures, the most in a single year. Between 1970 and 2024, voters decided 65 abortion-related measures, with pro-choice measures historically passing at a higher rate than pro-life measures.<\/p>\n<p><b>Sex, Gender, and LGBTQ Issues<\/b><br \/>Voters in nine states could decide 12 ballot measures related to <a href=\"https:\/\/api.newsfilecorp.com\/redirect\/RYzNwUOJo2\">sex, gender<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/api.newsfilecorp.com\/redirect\/WAGzgcM5pO\">LGBTQ issues<\/a> in 2026.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><u>States with Certified Measures<\/u>: Missouri<\/li>\n<li><u>States with Potential Measures<\/u>: Arizona, Colorado, Maine, Ohio, Vermont, Virginia, Washington<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Topics include medical services for transgender minors, school sports participation, anti-discrimination protections, and repeals of constitutional bans on same-sex marriage.
