Arun &#8211; 3 Hydro Electric Project is being executed by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sapdc.com.np\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SJVN Arun-3 Power Development Company Pvt. Ltd. (SAPDC)<\/a>, a fully owned subsidiary of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sjvn.nic.in\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SJVN<\/a>. SAPDC is a\u00a0significant collaboration between SJVN and the Government of Nepal, which aims to enhance regional energy security and boost economic development through sustainable hydropower generation in Arun River Basin.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"Picture_x0020_3\" src=\"https:\/\/static.pib.gov.in\/WriteReadData\/userfiles\/image\/image001XM6B.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation of Nepal Shri Shakti Bahadur Basnet; Health Minister, Province 1 of Nepal Shri Rajender Karki; India\u2019s Ambassador to Nepal Shri Naveen Srivastava; Chairperson &amp; Managing Director,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/hashtag\/sjvn?__eep__=6&amp;__cft__%5b0%5d=AZX50S6ObVXxrBGCAFfebQhFm3cao86nvhv0yOKRMYEtRmAx08sl57BPCCy6YZKwM3QaQpIQx7ZjqtEGc69VAW5_z2Z2L5CSE_Cs3gorxncEHbhOBCVPZL7BHuca_wG5KRPgfEmqs2dTZ2lbxMv3lLQ6oxA7jUvVaUpizhqxBtT4pw6vhZ46mfKYKTS9a-4qsH0&amp;__tn__=*NK-R\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SJVN<\/a>, Shri Sushil Sharma; CEO, Investment Board of Nepal. Shri Sushil Bhatta; CEO, SAPDC, Shri Arun Dhiman; Executive Director, SJVN, Shri Rakesh Sehgal; and other officials of Government of Nepal and local authorities were present at the tunnel breakthrough ceremony.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"Picture_x0020_13\" src=\"https:\/\/static.pib.gov.in\/WriteReadData\/userfiles\/image\/image002ZQHO.jpg\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister of Nepal said that this breakthrough brings us closer to the goal of providing clean, renewable energy and in contributing to the sustainable development of the region.\u00a0He expressed his appreciation for the ongoing efforts and reaffirmed the commitment of the Government of Nepal to facilitate the timely completion of Arun &#8211; 3\u00a0Hydro Electric Project.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"Picture_x0020_11\" src=\"https:\/\/static.pib.gov.in\/WriteReadData\/userfiles\/image\/image0037JXQ.jpg\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">India\u2019s Ambassador to Nepal\u00a0Shri Naveen Srivastava recalled in his address that the Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi and his Nepali counterpart Shri Pushpa Kamal Dahal\u00a0\u2018Prachanda\u2019\u00a0had agreed last year, to the long-term power trade agreement for the import of electricity from Nepal<strong>.\u00a0<\/strong>He said that completion of export-oriented 900 MW Arun 3\u00a0Hydro Electric Project\u00a0will be a major milestone for this.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"Picture_x0020_15\" src=\"https:\/\/static.pib.gov.in\/WriteReadData\/userfiles\/image\/image0048IR4.jpg\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">CMD, SJVN, Shri Sushil Sharma apprised the\u00a0Prime Minister of Nepal\u00a0that\u00a0the successful breakthrough of the Head Race Tunnel marks a significant milestone in the construction of the 900 MW Arun-3 Hydro Electric Project. He added that the successful completion of the Head Race Tunnel is a monumental achievement in the journey to harness the hydropower potential of the Arun River.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The CMD\u00a0briefed the\u00a0Prime Minister\u00a0about the progress of the project and the associated 217 km. long transmission line.\u00a0He informed that more than 74% of the project works have been completed and that the remaining works are going on in full swing.\u00a0He\u00a0added that Arun- 3 Hydro Electric Project will start generating electricity by next year and that it has the potential to generate 3,924 million units of electricity every year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The CMD said: &#8220;We are grateful for the unwavering support from the Government of Nepal, local authorities, and the community.
