New Delhi. While enunciating the approach of government towards an all-round, all-pervasive and all-inclusive (\u0938\u0930\u094d\u0935\u093e\u0902\u0917\u0940\u0923, \u0938\u0930\u094d\u0935\u0938\u094d\u092a\u0930\u094d\u0936\u0940 \u0914\u0930 \u0938\u0930\u094d\u0935\u0938\u092e\u093e\u0935\u0947\u0936\u0940) development, the Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Nirmala Sitharaman, announced a slew of measures for the promotion of green growth and renewable energy, while tabling the Interim Budget 2024-2025 in Parliament today.<\/p>\n

Rooftop solarization and muftbijli<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Finance Minister said that through\u00a0rooftop solarization<\/strong>, one crore households will be enabled to obtain up to\u00a0300 units<\/strong>\u00a0free electricity every month. This scheme follows the resolve of Prime Minister on the historic day of consecration of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The benefits expected from this are as follows:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Savings<\/strong>\u00a0up to\u00a0fifteen to eighteen thousand rupees annually<\/strong>\u00a0for households from free solar electricity and selling the surplus to the distribution companies;<\/li>\n
  2. Charging<\/strong>\u00a0of electric vehicles;<\/li>\n
  3. Entrepreneurship opportunities<\/strong>\u00a0for a large number of vendors for supply and installation;<\/li>\n
  4. Employment opportunities<\/strong>\u00a0for the youth with technical skills in manufacturing, installation and maintenance;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Green Energy<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

    With the aim of meeting the commitment of\u00a0\u2018net-zero\u2019<\/strong>\u00a0by 2070, Sitharaman proposed the following measures in the Interim Budget 2024-25:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Viability gap funding<\/strong>\u00a0to be provided for harnessing\u00a0offshore wind energy<\/strong>\u00a0potential<\/strong>\u00a0for initial capacity of one giga-watt.<\/li>\n
    2. Coal gasification and liquefaction<\/strong>\u00a0capacity of\u00a0100 MT<\/strong>\u00a0to be set up by 2030. This\u00a0will also help in reducing imports of natural gas, methanol, and ammonia.<\/li>\n
    3. Phased mandatory blending<\/strong>\u00a0of Compressed Bio Gas (CBG) in Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) for transport and Piped Natural Gas (PNG) for domestic purposes to be mandated.<\/li>\n
    4. Financial assistance<\/strong>\u00a0to be provided for procurement of\u00a0biomass aggregation machinery<\/strong>\u00a0to support collection.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      1. Electric Vehicle Ecosystem<\/u><\/strong><\/li>\n
      2. \u201cOur Government will expand and strengthen the e-vehicle ecosystem by supporting manufacturing and charging infrastructure\u201d, Finance Minister said while announcing that\u00a0greater adoption of e-buses<\/strong>for public transport networks will be encouraged through\u00a0payment security mechanism<\/strong>.<\/li>\n

      4. Bio-manufacturing and Bio-foundry<\/u><\/strong><\/li>\n
      5. For promoting the green growth, Sitharaman proposed a\u00a0new scheme of
        \nbio-manufacturing and bio-foundry<\/strong>which will provide environment friendly alternatives such as biodegradable polymers, bio-plastics, bio-pharmaceuticals and bio-agri-inputs. \u201cThis scheme will also help in transforming today\u2019s consumptive manufacturing paradigm to the one based on regenerative principles\u201d, she added.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
