Mumbai, June 2025: Sony SAB’s Wagle Ki Duniya – Nayi Peedhi Naye Kissey continues to explore the everyday dilemmas and joys of a middle-class Indian family, blending heartfelt emotions with subtle humour. As the Wagle household recovers from a series of emotional challenges, from Radhika’s (Bharati Achrekar) declining memory to Sakhi’s (Chinmayee Salvi) growing bond with Vivan (Namit Shah), Rajesh (Sumeet Raghvan) finds himself torn between being a protective father and a progressive one.
In the upcoming episodes, Rajesh takes a surprising step forward, agreeing to Sakhi and Vivan’s engagement, but with a few terms of his own. After testing their commitment through a 21-day “no contact” challenge and watching Vivan rise to the occasion during a family emergency, Rajesh begins to soften. But just as he starts accepting their relationship, another test awaits when Rajesh meets Vivan’s parents. As the families meet for the first time, they begin to notice some cultural differences, varying social backgrounds, and different expectations. Rajesh, deeply rooted in his middle-class values, begins to wonder if this match is truly meant to be.
Will Rajesh continue to stand by his daughter’s choice, or will this encounter shift everything he thought he had accepted?
Sumeet Raghvan, who plays Rajesh, shares, “It’s a very real struggle many parents go through, the shift from protecting your child to trusting their choices. Rajesh isn’t against love; he’s just afraid of losing the closeness he shares with Sakhi. Agreeing to the engagement is a big step for him, but meeting Vivan’s parents brings in a new layer of doubt and reflection. It’s a quiet but powerful test of acceptance, ego, and the ability to adapt as a father.”
