Over 450 golfers set to compete in one of the world’s largest charity golf tournaments
Hyderabad, January 29, 2026: The three-day 9th Biennial Aparna Cancer Crusaders Golf Championship, a flagship fundraiser and cancer awareness initiative, tees off this Friday, January 30, at the scenic Boulder Hills Golf & Country Club, Gachibowli, and will continue until February 1, 2026. Hosted by Cure Foundation in association with Apollo Cancer Centres, the Championship has grown into one of the most sought-after and largest golf tournaments in the world, with over 450 golfers vying for top honours.
Golfers will compete across four rounds played over five sessions across three days, following the Double Peoria Stableford format (100% Handicap), promising thrilling competition, sportsmanship, and high-quality golfing action. Handicaps will be generated using 12 hidden holes (six on the front nine and six on the back nine), with the Peoria holes drawn after submission of scorecards from the final session. The maximum score per hole will be Gross Double Bogey; players with handicaps above 24 may pick up after Triple Bogey, with Double Bogey recorded.
Over the years, the Cancer Crusaders Golf Championship has evolved into a powerful platform that unites leading golfers, celebrated sportspersons, eminent personalities, corporate leaders, and opinion makers, all driven by a shared commitment—to fight cancer and support patients who cannot afford life-saving treatment.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. P. Vijay Anand Reddy said, the next three days will witness golfing of the highest calibre, with some of the country’s most talented players and passionate amateurs competing shoulder to shoulder. The Championship is known not only for intense competition but also for producing exciting surprises. Beyond the sport, the funds raised continue to help us reach the masses through sustained cancer awareness programmes, screenings, and education initiatives.
He added that Cure Foundation, through its association with Apollo Cancer Centres, Hyderabad, has enabled free or subsidised quality cancer treatment for over 1,500 cancer survivors, while also supporting rehabilitation, research, and education programmes. As a Foundation, we firmly believe that money finds its true value only when it touches a life and creates a meaningful difference.
