The vibrant cultural evening Anand Utsav–2026, organized by the renowned Odissi dance institution Kalingayana Touryatrikam, was held with great grandeur at Utkala Ranga Mancha, enthusiasts, dignitaries, and lovers of classical dance from across the city.
The festival commenced with soulful and captivating Odissi performances presented by the institution’s accomplished dancers and artists, reflecting the timeless beauty and rich cultural heritage of Odisha’s classical dance tradition. The performances enthralled the audience and created an atmosphere of artistic celebration throughout the evening.
Sushant Kumar Rout MLA Bhubaneswar graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour and lauded the continuous efforts of Guru smt. Puspita Mishra for her dedication towards the promotion and preservation of Odissi dance and culture through her institution.
As part of the celebrations, eminent Odissi exponents Padmashri Guru smt. Aruna Mohanty and Guru Sj.Dhaneswar Swain were felicitated with the prestigious Anandashree Samman in recognition of their invaluable contribution to the field of classical dance. The distinguished gurus were also honoured with a traditional Pushpa Abhishekam, adding spiritual and cultural significance to the ceremony.
On the occasion, Nikita Sahoo was conferred with the Professor Raj Kishore Mishra Smriti Samman for excellence in the field of education.
During the evening session, Sushant Kumar Rout MLA Bhubaneswar and Chief Trustee Sj. Anshuman Mishra addressed the gathering and presented certificates and mementos to participating artists in appreciation of their performances and commitment to the arts.
The event was elegantly compered by Professor Murtunjaya Rath, while Guru smt. Puspita Mishra delivered the vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the guests, artists, supporters, and audience members for contributing to the grand success of the festival.
