Follow us on:

New Delhi. Friday, 12 June 2026

The world of technology is shifting, and if you look toward Nice, France, this June, you’ll see exactly where the future is being built. From June 14–16, 2026, the Palais des Expositions is transforming into the epicenter of international innovation as India and France come together for Bharat Innovates 2026.

This isn’t just another trade show. It is the maiden international flagship initiative by India’s Ministry of Education, designed to move beyond traditional software services and place the spotlight firmly on Deep Tech—the complex, science-heavy innovations that will solve the challenges of the next decade.

What is Bharat Innovates 2026?

At its heart, Bharat Innovates 2026 is a “bridge” event. For years, Indian startups have excelled in consumer apps and digital services, but the narrative is changing. This summit features 120 of India’s most promising deep-tech startups and 15 elite Higher Education Institutions (HEIs)—including the IITs and IISc—that are ready to scale their research into global solutions.

The event aims to connect these brilliant minds with a massive pool of 500+ global investors, corporate leaders, and venture capitalists.

Why This Matters (The “Deep Tech” Revolution)

You might ask, “Why specifically deep tech?” The answer lies in the 13 strategic sectors being showcased, including:

  • Semiconductors & AI: Moving from “coding” to “foundational architecture.”

  • Space & Defense: High-performance, low-cost satellite launch tech.

  • Biotech & Healthcare: Advanced medical devices and life-saving research.

  • Sustainable Energy: Carbon capture and new-age manufacturing.

This event marks a shift in Innovation Diplomacy. With Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Emmanuel Macron jointly inaugurating the event, the message is clear: India and France are not just trading partners; they are research and development partners.

 Startup Landscape

A key point of clarification for observers: Bharat Innovates 2026 is intentionally avoiding the “consumer internet” hype cycle. By curating only deep-tech ventures—startups that solve problems in energy, materials science, and advanced computing—the organizers are signaling that the Indian startup ecosystem has matured. We aren’t just building faster apps; we are building the hardware and scientific foundations of the future.
