Hyderabad, 30th August 2026: The Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Hyderabad, celebrated a significant literary milestone with the launch of two books authored by Mr. Sanjay Thakur, Principal, IHM-Hyderabad and Mr. Puneet Razdan, Head of the Department – Food & Beverage Service, IHM- Hyderabad.
The books – The Language Buffet: A Feast of Food and Drink Idioms and Phrases by Mr. Thakur and A Kaleidoscope of Indian Palates: The Ultimate Culinary Quiz Digest by Mr. Razdan – were launched by Ms. A. Vani Prasad, IAS, Special Chief Secretary, Youth Advancement, Tourism and Culture Department, Government of Telangana. today at its DD Colony campus.
The event was attended by Mr. D. Venkatesan, Regional Director, South, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India; Mr. Arun Kumar Gupta, Area Director, Lemon Tree Hotels; Mr. Jitendra Nakhwa, General Manager, Hotel Green Park; Mr. G. Giri Babu, Deputy Director (Technical), Commissioner of Technical Education, Govt. of Telangana; Mr. S. Ratnakar, Chartered Accountant, and Mr. P. Santosh Kumar, AAO, IHM Hyderabad, among others.
The Language Buffet offers a fascinating exploration of the colourful world of food and drink idioms and phrases, blending language, culture and gastronomy. It is an engaging read for hospitality professionals, students and food enthusiasts and a useful resource for enhancing vocabulary and communication skills.
A Kaleidoscope of Indian Palates takes readers on an interactive journey through India’s rich and diverse culinary landscape. Packed with quizzes and intriguing food trivia, it explores regional cuisines, traditional ingredients, culinary practices and lesser-known aspects of India’s food heritage, making it an engaging resource for chefs, culinary and hospitality students, food professionals and food enthusiasts.
The double launch also reflects IHM Hyderabad’s growing reputation as an authors’ hub, with several faculty members having authored books on hospitality, management, food and related subjects. With several more publications in the pipeline, the institute continues to strengthen its contribution to knowledge creation and literary scholarship alongside hospitality education.
