Resourcing Tomorrow 2026 Programme Confronts Mining’s Biggest Questions

London, United Kingdom–(Newsfile Corp. – September 1, 2026) – The Resourcing Tomorrow 2026 agenda has continued to build in scale and ambition, developing into one of the event’s boldest programmes yet.

Returning from 1-3 December 2026 at London’s Business Design Centre, the conference will bring together leaders from mining, government, finance and downstream industries to confront the questions now determining the future of global mineral supply: who will fund new production, how can project development be accelerated, and how mineral security can be strengthened without fragmenting global markets.

Reflecting the event theme, Beyond the Echo Chamber: Turning Talk Into Action, Rohitesh Dhawan, President and Chief Executive Officer of the International Council on Mining and Metals, will open the conference with A Rebel’s Manifesto for the Mining Industry. His address will set the scene for three days focused on what must change if the industry is to turn its ambitions into delivery.

As the world watches increasing state intervention in mining and mineral processing, it is only right that mineral security and the growing role of state governments play a central role across the conference. Addresses from Oman, Armenia and Nigeria are set to underscore the case for the mutually derived benefits of successful mining operations, alongside participation from the United States Government.

Provincial and regional governments will also be represented, including Quebec, Cornwall and Western Australia, alongside Indigenous Nations such as the Tłı̨chǫ Government. The expanded participation will bring into focus different mineral priorities, investment models and approaches to local development into the wider international debate.

In line with governments’ expanding defence priorities amid an increasingly volatile geopolitical landscape., the panel Building Resilient Critical Supply Chain Infrastructure Required by the Defence Sector, will feature Jeffrey Frankston, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for Industrial Base Resilience, United States Government; Rt Hon. Dominic Raab, Head of Global Affairs at Appian Capital Advisory; and Tom Garnett, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Refute. The session will examine the competing demand for critical minerals posed by increased defence spending, and how building a ‘resilient’ defence supply chain may impact the mining landscape.

The role of the United States will be explored further in The $12 Billion Insurance Policy: Can Project Vault End the Era of Mineral Volatility? Gary Evans, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of U.S. Antimony Corporation; Mark Kristoff, Chief Executive Officer of Traxys; and Tom Albanese, Chairman of American Ocean Minerals Company, will consider whether government-backed purchasing, stockpiling and direct capital deployment can provide greater market certainty and make strategically important projects more bankable.

However, policy and public funding alone will not close the widening gap between mineral demand and supply. Across the three-day programme, sessions including The Immediate Copper Thesis: Bridging the Gap Between Increasing Demand and Supply, Is Sustainability 1.0 Dead? and Building Resilient Critical Supply Chain Infrastructure Required by the Defence Sector will address copper supply, responsible mining, defence requirements, alternative finance and mining M&A.

Following their renowned success in 2025, the Leadership Roundtables are returning in 2026 in expanded form. The series of 90-minute discussions, uniquely held under the Chatham House Rule, will create space for candid discussion around important but often sensitive subjects.

Topics will include deep-sea mining, rare earths, Ukraine and battery supply chains, alongside the second Mine to Mission Defence Roundtable. Sessions will be facilitated by organisations including the International Council on Mining and Metals, OECD, Critical Minerals Association UK and TechMet.

More than 2,300 mining professionals are expected to attend Resourcing Tomorrow 2026, taking place from 1-3 December at the Business Design Centre, London.
