A structured strength and balance programme designed to support bone health, mobility and confidence in older adults

Chennai, August 2026: With bone health becoming an increasingly important concern as people age,  Shri Physio & Rehab  is set to introduce an Osteoporosis Boot Camp from September 15, 2026, designed specifically for men and women above the age of 50.

The three days a week, mid morning programme will focus on targeted strength training, resistance exercises and balance work, using low intensity weights and carefully structured movements. The objective is to help participants improve muscular strength, support bone health, enhance stability and maintain functional mobility as they age.

Unlike conventional fitness programmes, the Osteoporosis Boot Camp is designed around the specific needs of older adults, with exercises that can be adapted to individual fitness levels and physical abilities. The programme will emphasise gradual progression, correct movement patterns and consistency rather than high-intensity workouts.

“Maintaining bone and muscle strength is an important part of healthy ageing. Regular, appropriate exercise can play a significant role in supporting mobility, balance and independence as we grow older. This programme is designed to make strength training approachable and purposeful for people over 50,” said Dr.Shriram Krishnamoorthy of Shri Physio & Rehab.

The Osteoporosis Boot Camp is aimed at encouraging adults over 50 to take a proactive approach to bone health, with a focus on building strength, improving balance and staying active with confidence.

Programme begins: September 15, 2026
Frequency: 3 days a week
Timing: Mid morning
Age group: Men and women above 50
Focus: Strength training | Resistance training | Balance | Bone health
