Chennai, October 2026: Shri Physio & Rehab Centre, Adyar, conducted an osteoporosis awareness camp on October 20, marking World Osteoporosis Day. The camp received an encouraging response, reflecting growing interest in understanding bone health and the importance of preventive care.
The four hour camp aimed to raise awareness about osteoporosis and highlight practical ways to maintain bone health through everyday lifestyle choices. While calcium and Vitamin D are commonly associated with bone health, the initiative emphasised the importance of a more comprehensive approach that also includes balanced nutrition, a healthy diet and regular exercise.
Four physiotherapists were available throughout the camp to guide participants on simple exercises that can be practised at home to strengthen muscles and support bone health. The sessions focused on helping participants understand how regular physical activity, alongside appropriate nutrition and preventive care, can contribute to maintaining strength and mobility.
The camp sought to make information about osteoporosis accessible and actionable, enabling participants to understand the steps they can take in their daily lives to support their bone health. The encouraging turnout and the waiting list for the next camp underscored the importance of continued awareness initiatives around osteoporosis and preventive healthcare.
Through this initiative, Shri Physio & Rehab Centre reaffirmed its commitment to educating the public on bone health and encouraging people to take proactive steps towards maintaining strength, mobility and overall well being.
