New Delhi. An Indian-origin software engineer working in a big IT company in Abu Dhabi took triple talaq from his wife living in Khajrana, Indore over video call. Despite all efforts, India did not come to pick up the woman. The woman challenged the process of triple talaq in the court. Several court notices were sent to Abu Dhabi, but the engineer did not accept them.
The matter reached the Supreme Court
Rs 2 lakh to the woman. Along with providing interim maintenance, the engineer was ordered to appear in every case. If this is not done then there will be arrest. The engineer deposited two lakh rupees in the woman’s account and also came to Indore to appear in a case. Now the hearing will be held again in the Family Court on 29th January and in the Supreme Court on 5th February.
Sent alone from Abu Dhabi to India twice
Advocate Shanno Shagufta Khan said, the software engineer, originally living in Bengaluru, was married to a girl living in Khajrana, Indore in December 2018. Later both of them went to Abu Dhabi. Both of them used to have disputes over small matters. In April 2019, he sent his wife alone. Took it back after a few days. In December 2019, he again sent me to his maternal home in Indore alone and never came to pick me up.
Anticipatory bail granted on the condition of giving Khan said that the process of triple talaq over video call has been challenged in the court. A case has also been registered against the engineer and his family in Khajrana police station. The Supreme Court has granted him anticipatory bail on the condition of paying Rs 2 lakh and appearing in every case.
