Lucknow. On the orders of Rampur SP, a report has been lodged against four people including the husband for giving triple talaq when dowry demand was not met. A woman resident of a locality of Shahbad was married to a man from Shahzadnagar area on 13 November 2021.

It is alleged that the married woman’s father had spent fifty-five lakh rupees on the marriage. The married woman alleges that after marriage, her in-laws started demanding dowry. A Fortuner car and Rs 25 lakh were being demanded in dowry. When the demands were not met, all the in-laws including the husband started torturing her mentally and physically. It is alleged that the father-in-law had bad intentions since the marriage. Many times he started doing objectionable acts with his daughter-in-law.

Meanwhile, the in-laws had also taken a loan of Rs 6.5 lakh from the married woman’s father. The married woman alleges that she got triple talaq by instigating her husband. The police have started investigation by registering a report in the IPC related to Dowry Act, assault to kill, molestation and triple talaq.
