Mumbai, May 2025: Windows Production’s Aamar Boss, directed by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee, continues to charm audiences at the box office, collecting a strong ₹3.27 crore in just three weeks. Released on May 9, the film has proven to be not just a commercial success but also a cultural milestone for Bengali cinema.

What makes this achievement even more significant is the sensitive geopolitical context it released in. While some major production houses, including Bollywood banners like Maddock Films, chose to skip theatrical releases due to the escalating India-Pakistan tensions, Windows stood firm in their decision to bring Aamar Boss to cinemas, and audiences responded with resounding love.

The film marks the much-awaited comeback of Rakhee Gulzar after 22 years, delivering a soul-stirring performance alongside Shiboprosad Mukherjee, who brings deep vulnerability and strength to his role as her son.

In a heartfelt joint statement, Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee said: “We believed this story deserved the big screen. In times when fear and uncertainty can overpower creativity, the audience gave us courage. Their love has reminded us that emotion still matters more than strategy, and truthfully told stories will always find their way home.”

With over 1 lakh footfalls in its opening week followed by 2.5 lakhs in 16 days and the biggest theatrical opening for a Bengali film in 2025, Aamar Boss proves that stories rooted in emotion, resilience, and humanity will always have a place in the hearts of viewers.
